Hey guys I'm up on the Blogger with a birthday card for October's Birthday Bash Card Hop on Instagram. The hop is every 4th Tuesday of the month. This month's color theme is...
I mean I am in love with these colors because well...HALOWEEN! It's one of my favorite month's to make cards because of all the amazing colors that is associated with Halloween itself. So how do we make a birthday card featuring colors inspired by Halloween you ask? By using all of the magical colors and combine them with a cute little girl with bat wings and a Halloween dress of course.
I found this image on Etsy and the entire collection was super cute so I bought it and downloaded them to my collection.
I really wanted to capture Halloween on a Birthday card so I started out with a Birthday embossing folder, ran it through my Big Shot and then used the Halloween colors in distressed Oxide inks (Seedless Grape, Carved Pumpkin, Black Soot, Twisted Citron) add some fabric leaves that scream Fall from Hobby Lobby and added a black card stock to back the A2 card base. I then adhered the Focal image of the girl and the pumpkins from the same digital collection. I also took my acrylic markers and added the orange lines to the pumpkins just to give them some depth and pop of color.
I didn't have a stamp for this so I went to my printer, got on Canva picked the font and typed the sentiment downloaded it to my computer and then printed it and die cut it using one of my wonky frame dies and called it DONE!
I am not mad at it and think it was perfect for a Halloween inspired Birthday card. Do you make themed birthday cards like this or do you stick to traditional birthday cards?
I hope I inspired you to get into your craft space and make a card to brighten someone's day even if it's not their birthday!
Stay Crafty,
Kimberly
