What can it be? It's a coffee cup for me

Hey guys, I'm up on the Blogger with an ANYTHING GOES Challenge for STAMPlorations.  Click here to join in on the fun and get some amazing inspiration! Their rules state you have to use stamps (if you are not using anything from →Stamplorations←.  Unfortunately I do not have anything (yet) from them.  Here is a link to check out their fabulous shop.

Today I decided to do a layout.  I have been making so many cards lately I am neglecting my layouts.  I am doing a Christmas layout from 2025 and found 2 pictures of my mom's husband opening a coffee cup my Nephew got him.

Since stamping was a requirement (and I am not mad at that at all because I have a TON of stamps) I decided to make my own background.

I pulled out a couple of stamp sets from Whimsy stamps  (GRUMPY HOLIDAYS and LOADS OF CHEER) and a Karen Burniston (SEASON OF CHEER) along with one of their alpha die set and a stamp set from Spellbinders (HOLIDAY GNOMES).

Since the pictures are primarily red and blues I reached into my Arden SEASON OF JOY collection and it was a perfect match for these photos!

I backed the 12x12 white card stock with a piece of Arden's Season of Joy but I made sure to gut it because it's not just red it has some black stamping on the background as almost a grunge effect and I didn't want to waste it...but since I needed to match the red I used to back the white 12x12 paper, I used it to mat the photos๐Ÿ˜ž

After backing the 12x12 I went to town stamping.  I start with the largest stamp and worked my way down in size trying to keep them at odd numbers because for some reason our brains love that.  After I finished stamping I was going to color in the Charlie Brown looking Christmas tree with my Copics but I didn't want to ruin the look so I kept it as is and brought in some reds and blues in with the title, some title pieces and stars from that Arden collection and some bling.  I think keeping the background black and white those pieces really made it pop.

Well that is it!  I hope I inspired you to reach into your stamps and create your own background, it is so much fun to do!  Don't forget to head over to Stamplorations' Monthly Blog Challenge and join in on the fun.

Thanks for hanging out with my!

Stay crafty,

Kimberly

Cheers! - Simon Says Blog Challenge

Hey guys I'm up on the Blogger with a St. Patty's card doing a challenge for Simon Says Stamp Blog.  This weeks Challenge is all about Spritz and Splatters!  To join in on the fun or just to get some inspiration Clink on the link and head on over.

I started out with an A2  size white card stock trimmed down an 1/8th of an inch. I went into all of my spritzes and sprays and grabbed a bunch.  I had mowed lawn, wild honey, rusty hinge, and even a color I made up!  I spritzed a color and then heat set it and moved on to each of the other colors doing the same.  After it was completely dried I added some white acrylic paint splatters along with some white acrylic paint mixed with a  little mowed lawn and splattered that.

I printed out an image I purchased off of Etsy. I got 20 of the cutest St. Patty images that are perfect for doing quick cards!  Here is a link to her shop if you want to head over and check them out. I printed this image out on a 3x3 watercolor paper and I loved the look.  I die cut it with one of my stitched dies (I really don't even know what to call that shape).

I die cut the CHEERS! from an alpha die from Recollections. I used the same color card stock that I used for the sentiment to back the card and adhered it altogether. My final step was to add glossy accents to the top of the beer and to the letters in the sentiment.  It really was a fun card to make.  I love playing with inks.  Do you use sprays and splatters on your cards?

I so appreciate you hanging out with me today and I hope I inspired you to make a card and put a smile on someones face today.

Make it a crafty day!

Hello

Hey guys I'm up on the Blogger with a card for the PAMMIE'S INKY PINKIES CHALLENGE.  (#2606)

Click on the link to see all the awesome inspiration and maybe join in on the fun and prizes!

I started with a sticker pack of flowers that was on a black background that I had in my stash from a blessing box.  I loved the look so much that I used black card stock and backed that with an A2 size white card stock that I inked up with SALTWATER TAFFY distressed oxide.  I love this shade!

After adhering both panels together I added all the stickers and then went into my stash and grabbed my scalloped die frames and used the same SALTWATER TAFFY to ink the edges and added a black panel to the top with a focal point of flowers.

I decided that I wanted a simple sentiment of HELLO.  I went into my stamps and found one that fit perfectly (I really should have thought ahead because everything was adhered down). I stamped it with some VersaMark watermark and then uses some WOW super fine gold powder and held my breath that it would come out.  It did!

This came together super fast!

Thanks for hanging out with me.  Don't forget to head over and get some inspiration and play along with the challenge.

Have a crafty day,

Kimberly

Bah Humbug!

Hey guys, I'm up on the Blogger with another Christmas card for February's challenge over on the The 12 Months of Christmas Link Up !  If you guys want to stay caught up on your Christmas cards for this year this is a fun way to do it!

Today I'm working on Challenge #131 and made a Grinch card for it.   I absolutely love the Grinch and I found this AI image I printed on watercolor card stock.  I used the smooth side so I could add the stamp sentiment from WHIMSY STAMPS - - BAH HUMBUG!  From their Grumpy Holidays Clear stamps set.  It was still available at the time of this blog and it's super cute with a dog and a Charlie Brown Christmas tree!

After I stamped my sentiment I reached into my card stock and pulled this gorgeous shinny red card stock and framed the Grinch.  I then grabbed some washi tape, because don't we all have a ton of that!  I added a piece of washi to each side of the card to balance it out.  I popped up the Grinch on foam tape, added a sentiment inside and called it done!  Easy Peasy!

If you guys are like me and need some motivation to get those Christmas cards done early so you are not adding any stress to the Holidays, because who needs more of that!  Head over to the 12 MONTHS OF CHRISTAMAS LINK UP CHALLENGE and get some inspiration and some fun prizes and your cards done for a stress free Holiday!

Thanks for hanging out with me today!  Have a crafty day.

Word Art Wednesday Challenge

Hey guys, I'm up on the Blogger with a new challenge group I just found - WORD ART WEDNESDAY!  This is a Challenge that happens every Wednesday.  Today I am playing along with ANYTHING GOES WEEKS 738-739 and the word prompt is:
I'm also playing along with PAMMIES INKY PINKIES...there is a new challenge every Monday so click on the link and head over there to see some great inspiration and join in!

Even though they have a word prompt the Rules say you don't have to use it, anything goes as long as it's family friendly.  I chose to use the scripture and make a card with it.

I went into Canva and used one of their Apps to shape the scripture into a heart and then downloaded it to my Pages.  From there I sized it and printed it out on some Vicki Boutin Vellum paper.

I reached into my stash and pulled out a 12x12 paper pad with 2 different pattern papers for the base of the card and the word LOVE.

I also reached into my and pulled out a dark gray and a black piece of card stock to back my pattern paper on.  I adhered everything down including the bling I had in my stash just to give it a little extra.

I then reached into my extensive, die collection...lol, I say that because I just took inventory of my dies and you guys...I have some how opened my own little store! hahahaha, Funny not funny (don't tell my husband) and pulled out this LOVE die.  How cute is that?  I will say I got it off of Amazon for cheap and it cuts great!

I cut the word LOVE out of the pattern paper and backed it 3 times in the grey just to give it a bit of dimension.  I glued it down to the bottom left and added that flower from one of my 49 and Market collections.

Well that was a quick card and I like how the vellum softened it up.  Do you use vellum on your cards?

Don't forget to hop over to the challenge for some great inspiration AND prizes!!

Thanks for hanging out with me today,
Have a crafty day!

Double Trouble Paper Crafting - Challenge 192 (FUN IN THE SUN)

Hey guys, I'm here doing a fun in the sun challenge from the gals over at Double Trouble Paper Crafting.  This is for June's Challenge #192, if you want to join in on the fun here is a link to their site.

This month's challenge from Thing 1 (such the Trouble Maker) is: "Sun Fun" and must include the following (but adding more is ok too)...

  1. Three (3) torn edges
  2. Two (2) colors
  3. (1) die cut, ephemera or punched item
I also went for Thing 2, who always Double Dares you with her sketches and a  TWIST from Thing 3 (she's so Twisted),  who wanted us to add a flip flop!  I mean what is summer with out flip flops?

I started out with some "hand made" white paper, I got this from Hobby Lobby and LOVE it...it's almost like a cotton paper that tears amazingly and blends easily with brushes.  I tore three strips on a slight angle and ink blended them with Squeezed lemonade, Salvaged Patina and Wild Honey (that takes care of the 2 colors plus I added one).

I then cut some "sand" colored card stock down to a A2 card size and adhered the inked strips to it leaving some of the card stock peeking through to give it a little bit of a beachy feel.  I reached into my stash of Jolee's and grabbed 2 beach themed packs of 3D stickers and created a beach vibe scene and then added the die cut phrase "FUN IN THE SUN".

This was a super fun card to make, I have really been enjoying ink blending lately and the summer colors just make me so happy!

Thanks for hanging out with me for this Challenge.

Christmas Gnomies!

Is it too early for Christmas?  Not according to any store you walk into today or last month so I'm up on the blog with a Gnome Christmas card I made for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Blog CHALLENGE  This is for Challenge #191, Gnome-Vember (that's cute right? Because you have to use Gnomes on your card...get it๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚)

Anyhoo, I have had this rubber slim cling stamp in my stash for about 2 years now and it's never been opened!  I love gnomes but I don't do many slim line cards so there it sat but when I came across this Hop I knew I had to use it!

The stamp is from STAMPENDOUS! and called SLIM WINTER GNOMES.  I do love their stamps, they are so crisp when you stamp them!
I stamped the image on 110lb white card stock and used Versa Fine Clair ink in nocturnal and then colored them in using mostly Spectrum Noir alcohol markers with a couple of Copic markers thrown in for good measure...only because I started off with Spectrum markers when I first started using alcohol markers before discovering Copic and I'm trying to get my marker stash built up so I only have a couple.

After coloring all the gnomes, I added some sparkle with a glitter pen on the snow flakes and the brim of the hats and the snow and then added the chip board sentiments from the 49 and Market Christmas collection I have.

I backed it on a red color textured card stock and green color textured card stock and I called it done!

I just discovered this group so it is the first time joining in on a hop.  Here is a link if you want to check them out and join in...I mean WHO doesn't LOVE GNOMES!!!

Thanks for stopping by,

Kimberly
