Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop Fall/Winter 2021 ~ Make Today Amazing

Hey guys, thanks for stopping by today!  Today I'm here doing a coffee themed card for the Coffee Loving Card makers Fall/Winter Blog Hop 2021!  I hope you are having as much fun hopping along as I am creating and hopping!

I'm here with my 10th card so far this hop!  I just learned on Wednesday that I won a prize from Impress Cards & Crafts!  I'm so excited and thankful for Impress Cards & Crafts for being a SUPER SPONSOR this year!

Now on to this sweet, simple cards.  I started off with an A2 card base.  I cut a white card stock down to size for the top panel and I inked it with Tim Holtz Distressed Ink in TATTERED ROSE.  I then sprayed a little water to activate it.

The side border is from my older stash...I used 4 layers and adhered it down to the side of the card.  I then reached into my NEW stash from Piececraftlove.com and pulled out a mini sticker tablet from CARPE DIEM and found these tiny coffee cups and knew I had to use one!

I pulled a clipboard with the word TODAY on it, some black and white flowers, 2 different color hearts and a word strip that says MAKE TODAY AMAZING.  I also found this cute heart arrow.  I put 2 tiny banners below the word strip and I was done!

This was a super easy card to make!  Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and checking out my 10th card for the COFFEE LOVING CARDMAKERS BLOG HOP!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop Fall/Winter 2021 ~ But first Coffee

Hey guys, thanks for stopping by today!  Today I'm here doing a coffee themed card for the Coffee Loving Card makers Fall/Winter Blog Hop 2021!  I hope you are having as much fun hopping along as I am creating and hopping!

Wow, I think this is my 9th card now!  I'm on a roll this year!  I think the most cards I've done on the Fall/Winter Blog Hop was 4 so I'm just so excited to be doing this again this year🙌

I used 2 different stamp sets for this one.  The first one I grabbed was the one I actually one for the Coffee blog hop a couple of months ago from JOURNALS FOR LIFE.  I love their stuff!  I was so excited to get this set!

I started off with an A2 card, I reached into my 6x6 paper pads and pulled out DESIGNER PAPER ~ CARNIVAL with those really awesome checkered pattern of colors!  I then reached for a paper from WE ARE MEMORY KEEPERS called ANTIQUE CHIC.  I fussy cutter the top of the paper and adhered to to the top of the card.  I also die cut a tag from the same piece of paper (with journaling lines).

I stamped the Sentiment from the JOURNALS FOR LIFE in Wendy Vecchi Permanent ink in FERN GREEN.  I then stamped the coffee cup with the whip cream (old stash, and I can't remember where I got it...but I do love the saying😉)  I used Tim Holtz Distressed Markers in FOSSILIZED AMBER and LUCKY GLOVER.  I added some sparkle from my glitter brush marker in CLEAR SHIMMER.

I had the calendar in my stash so I adhered it down on the card panel, added foam dots to the sentiment and added thread to the tag and adhered it all down.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are enjoying the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop as much as I am!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop Fall/Winter 2021 ~ Coffee is Always a Good idea

Hey guys, thanks for stopping by today!  Today I'm here doing a coffee themed card for the Coffee Loving Card makers Fall/Winter Blog Hop 2021!  I hope you are having as much fun hopping along as I am creating and hopping!

Today I am using a stamp from the JOURNALS FOR LIFE coffee stamp set called BUT FIRST COFFE.  I actually won this stamp set on the last blog hop a couple of months ago and I love it!  I must say, I'm not good with coloring my stamps but I gave it a go.

First I cut  a woodgrain background to fit my A2 card and then die cut another frame in a cream colored card stock to use as the top card.

I stamped the coffee cup and saucer with those beautiful flowers on white card stock.  I then I stamped the heart shaped "cream top" with more flowers on top to give it a fancy look like the baristas do at the coffee shops.  I fussy cut it, colored all of it in (using lots of different colors) and I popped it up on foam dots to give it a bit of dimension.

I then stamped the beans (I mean how cute are they) and the spoon on the side of the saucer.  I stamped teh COFFEE IS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA sentiment above it.  I added a little heart "candy" from another stamp set beside the cup, added my Nuvo drops in AUBURN PEARL and adhered the panel to my A2 card.

I used the following Tim Holtz Distressed Inks: WORN LIPSTICK, FIRED BRICK, LUCKY CLOVER, SCATTERED STRAW, ANTIQU LINEN, TEA DYE, TATTERED ROSE and WALNUT STAIN.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!  Now it's time for some coffee ;)

Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop Fall/Winter 2021 ~ Two Coffees are Better Than One! ~ THING 1 AND THING2

Hey guys, thanks for stopping by today!  Today I'm here doing a coffee themed card for the Coffee Loving Card makers Fall/Winter Blog Hop 2021!

This will be the 4th year I'm doing it and it's always so much fun!  Amy Tsuruta is the mastermind behind this huge coffee lovers blog hop each year and does a fantastic job!  There are a ton of Super Sponsors and prizes so I hope you come join us!

Today I'm here using some these cute FREE IMAGES I found on line of Thing 1 & Thing 2.  How adorable are they!  After downloading them I fussy cut both and set them aside.

I pulled my A2 pre-scored card (because that's how I roll) and set it aside.  I cut the top panel to size using some water color paper I had in my stash that's a cream color.  I then went into my old stash and found these awesome circles with spirally lines (did I just make a word up??).  Any-WHO, I stamped them in some Catherine Pooler ROCKIN RED and some HERO ARTS inks in OMBRE BLUE.  I then added some blue lines with my ARTEZA Markers.

I printed out the title from my computer and die cut it using my thin die cut.  I adhered the sentiment down, along with Thing 1 and Thing 2 and then I reached into my stash and pulled out 2 coffee cups from JOURNALS FOR LIFE stickers and ephemera pack.  I thought the cups were the perfect size for these 2!

Finally, I inked the edge of the top card in the same OMBRE BLUE (and forgot to mention that I inked the sentiment edges in ROCKIN' RED).

I adhered the top panel to the A2 card and BAM! Done.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like the card and it inspired you to come hop along with the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop Fall/Winter 2021 ~ I can't Emphasize this enough: COFFEE

Most of the time when we think of coffee we think of the dark, rich colors of browns are caramel.  Today I'm here doing a card with a pink and blues to make it a fun, whimsical card.  Even though the colors may not be traditional coffee...I can't emphasize this enough: (I still need) COFFEE!

I cut down a white stock paper to the size of an  A2 card.  I dug into my new Washi-tape I just got from Hobby Lobby!  I love the piece I used for the top border with the tiny scallops!  I alternated the blue and pink that were the same size in width and design all the way down the card, over lapping just a tad.

I pulled out some papers from a 6x6 pad from Jen Hadfield called COTTAGE LIVING.  I am in LOVE with this pad!  A very good friend of mine purged her stash and she had about 10 6x6 pads she wanted to re-home and I welcomed them with open arms!

I picked out the 3 different patterns from this pad, but I made sure they were all in the same color family. I used my coffee die from Sizzix called PUMPKIN SPICE & EVERYTHING NICE stamp and die set.  I love the little curl it has in the handle!  I stacked them 3 high and I tilted them slightly to give it a little bit of "movement" in the card.

I then dug into my stash and grabbed a coffee sentiment I CAN'T EMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH: COFFEE.  I've had in my stash for a while and I can't remember where I got it, but I thought it went perfect with this card.  I stamped it on vellum but it kind of got lost in the background so I adhered it to some scrap paper and trimmed it and popped it up on some foam tape.  Last but not least, I had some of the sequins that matched the blues perfectly, I added a couple at the to and bottom for the sentiment and that's it!

This card came together pretty fast and I loved the  non-traditional coffee colors.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like the card and it inspired you to come hop along with the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop Fall/Winter 2021 ~ WE GO TOGETHER LIKE HOT CHOCOLATE & MARSHMALLOWS

Today I'm here using some Crafter's Companion Gemini COZY DRINKS STAMP & DIE SET.  This set is super cute and comes with 2 stamp and die sets.  I used the one with the cute coffee cups with a spoon, marshmallows, whip cream, winter scarf and a smiley face!  This set is too cute!

I started out making the A2 size card in brown heavy weight card stock paper and then cut the top layer slightly smaller, in a lighter weight cream color card stock.  I inked it in  tim Holtz Distressed Ink in TATTERED ROSE.  I pulled out some snow sequins from my Christmas stash and adhered them down to the top of the card.

I picked out a paper pattern from one of my 6x6 paper pads from G Basicgray's called WHAT'S UP.  I cut one coffee cup from it using the stamp to out line it and added that oh so cute smiley face!  I mean who can have a frown when drinking coffee?  I stamped the spoon behind it so it looks like it's in the cup.

I then stamped the other cup with Black Stayz On Ink (twice) using my Tim Holtz stamping platform.  I then added some fine embossing powder in DETAIL BLACK and he set it.  I then stamped it again with some embossing pad and embossed it with WOW fine embossing powder in SNOW and heat set that, it made a sparkly outline of the cup!

I then stamped the whip cream in a  Distressed Ink in WALNUT STAIN and again with my embossing pad and used the same fine WOW embossing powder in SNOW.  I then stamped the winter scarf using the same pattern paper as the other cup and die cut it out and added it the cup.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiments on the card (one on a pattern paper to give it a bit of dimension) and also, we can't forget those cute marshmallows!  I adhered all of it down (popping up the black coffee cup and whip cream on foam dots) and I was done!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like the card and it inspired you to come hop along with the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop Fall/Winter 2021 ~ PUMPKIN SPICE AND EVERYTHING NICE

Hey guys, thanks for stopping by today!  Today I'm here doing a coffee themed card for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop 2021!

This will be the 4th year I'm doing it and it's always so much fun!  Amy Tsuruta is the mastermind behind this huge coffee lovers blog hop each year and does a fantastic job!  There are a ton of Super Sponsors and prizes so I hope you come join us!

Today I'm making a Pumkin Spice and Everything Nice Card with lots of whip cream on top!

I started with an A2 base card and added a top card in a the color of cream from my stash.  I cut a 4 1/2 x 2" strip from a piece from my stash, added some twine (it was actually green but I inked it in WALNUT STAIN from Tim Holtz Distressed Ink).  I adhered it to the strip I cut.

I grabbed my Crafter's Companion Gemini COZY DRINKS STAMP & DIE SET.  This set is super cute and comes with 2 stamp and die sets.  I used the one with the to go cup.  I reached in my stash for another paper to use as the cup.

I pulled out my stamp and die set from Sizzix called PUMPKIN SPICE & EVERYTHING NICE. I stamped the one that says PUMPKIN SPICE AND EVERYTHING NICE on the paper along with the to go cup from the Crafter's Companion set (I love to mix and match coffee stamp and dies sets).

I also stamped the "whip cream" 2 times and then once (backwards, it was a happy accident).  I layered them all together for a big pile of whip cream!  I mean who doesn't love extra whip?!   I then stamped out the straw twice and cut them out.  I used foam adhesive on both the cup and whip cream.  I put the straws behind the whip cream. and also added some sequins from my stash on top of the whip cream for some extra toppings!

I have a border die so I used it to punch out a small piece of the same paper I used behind the cup.  I added it on the top of the cup and added some Nuvo drops in CHAMPAGNE.

Finally, I used the circle die with stitching from the Crafters Companion set, stamped the pumpkin from the PUMPKIN & SPICE stamp set to it, popped it up on foam tape and adhered it to the card.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like the card and it inspired you to come hop along with the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop Fall/Winter 2021 ~ Warm & Cozy memories

Hey guys, thanks for stopping by today!  Today I'm here doing a coffee themed card for the Coffee Loving Card makers Fall/Winter Blog Hop 2021!

This will be the 4th year I'm doing it and it's always so much fun!  Amy Tsuruta is the mastermind behind this huge coffee lovers blog hop each year and does a fantastic job!  There are a ton of Super Sponsors and prizes so I hope you come join us!

Today I'm here putting together this cute Christmas Hot Cocoa themed card using some puffy stickers from Paper Crafts.

I started off with a pre-made A2 size card base that was already scored.  I went into my stash and found some Christmas green paper and cut it down to size.  I added a flag and a strip of burgundy colored textured card stock along with some Christmas twine that I wrapped around the green top card so that when I adhered it to the base you wouldn't be able to see the back of the twine.

I then added a sticker from PHOTOPLAY that says WARM & COZY MEMORIES to the top, which I thought was the perfect sentiment for this card!  I then chose the 2 hot cocoa puffy stickers from the pack I had, added some of the holly leaves, mistletoe and a cut puffy sticker candy cane!

This card came together super quick and is such a cute Christmas card to send for Christmas!  Just goes to show you don't have to be elaborate when making cards...sometimes simple is best.

Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop Fall/Winter 2021 ~ Coffee and Friends are the Perfect Blend

Today I'm here using some AlteNew FRIENDS FOREVER coffee stamps.  I saw this set and fell in love!  The sentiments are PERFECT for any friendship.  If you haven't seen this set head over to Piece Craft Love and check it out!

I went with a bigger card this time.  I did an A6 card which is 4 1/2 x 6 1/4".  I wanted to do a wider base card for this particular one.

I started out making the A6 card in brown heavy weight card stock paper and then cut the top layer slightly smaller, using the Vicki Boutin water color paper.  I wanted to use something that would take the background distressed sprays I used and this paper is magical!  I used SHIMMERINGZ SPRAYS in BRONZED BOMBSHELL along with Tim Holtz Distress Spray in CRACKED PISTACHIO.

After letting it dry I stamped it with the cool hearts that looks like steam coming up from the coffee cups!  That was from my Crafter's Companion Gemini COZY DRINKS STAMP & DIE SET. I love mixing and matching die and stamp sets!  I also inked the edges in the Catherine Pooler ink.

I then stamped the cups using StazOn Ink in Black along with the sentiments COFFEE AND FRIENDS ARE THE PERFECT BLEND and BFF.  I love using my Tim Holtz stamping platform for this!  I also stamped out the double hearts that come in the AlteNew stamp set and with the same Catherine Pooler ink in WALK IN THE PARK.

I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in TEA DYE to ink the cups along with the Catherine Pooler ink  in the same WALK IN THE PARK color (I just love it). I alternated coloring of the cups.

I fussy cut everything and then adhered them down, using pop dots for the double hearts to give a bit of dimension.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like the card and it inspired you to come hop along with the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop Fall/Winter 2021 ~ Coffee is a Hug in a Mug

Hey guys, thanks for stopping by today!  Today I'm here doing a coffee themed card for the Coffee Loving Card makers Fall/Winter Blog Hop 2021!

This will be the 4th year I'm doing it and it's always so much fun!  Amy Tsuruta is the mastermind behind this huge coffee lovers blog hop each year and does a fantastic job!  There are a ton of Super Sponsors and prizes so I hope you come join us!

Today I'm here putting together this cute Coffee themed card using some dies from Gemini Crafter's Companion.  I have 2 sets from the Coffee Sweet Like Chocolate die set.

I started off with some cranberry textured card stock and cut it to A2 size for the card base.  I went into my stash and found some brown craft paper with circles on it which reminded me of snow. I cut the coffee cup, snow flake, spoon and steam from the die set.  I used velum for the snow flake and the steam.  I had a piece of scrape paper from my Christmas stash to die cut the spoon.

I used one of my Nestibilities frame dies that was 3 x 4 1/4 and cut a frame out.  I then stamped the sentiment with STAZON ink in Black and popped it up on foam dots, along with the coffee cup to give some dimension. I added some Tim Holtz Distressed Ink in BRUSHED CORDUROY on the edges of the card Lastly, I added a Nuvo drop in the middle of the snowflake and I was done.

This card came together super quick and is such a cute coffee card to send for to someone special!  Just goes to show you don't have to be elaborate when making cards...sometimes simple is best.

World Card Making Day

Hi guys thanks so much for stopping by my blog post today.  It's World Card Making day and it was so much fun to make these 2 cards!

So today I'm here as a Creative Ambassador for PIECE CRAFT LOVE and working on a couple of cards for World Card Making Day .  I'm going to tell you upfront that my card making skills are not that spectacular but I do love making them!  I am in awe of the card makers that I do follow and watching their ink blending techniques just blow my mind.  These are not that😬

However, I did put 2 cards together, one being a coffee card because who doesn't like coffee?  The other is a sweet fall friendship card (funny enough, the sentiment came from the  coffee stamp set I used for the first card...I mean another great reason to love coffee, am I right)?

We will start with the coffee card (I don't think I can say this enough) because WHO DOESN'T LOVE COFFEE, or at least the smell of it!  I used a brown, heavy weight card stock, cut to an A2 size for one layer of the top of the card and stressed the edges.  I then adhered it to an A2 blank card (because that's how I roll, yes, I bought the pre-pack of A-2 cards that are already scored and everything😬)

I then cut to size the paper from ECHO PARK, from their COFFEE collection, it was actually the B side of the 3x4 journaling cards (item # C0164002).  I loved the pink hues in it and ALL THE COFFEE CUPS!  I then distressed the edges and adhered it to the brown card stock, leaving just a peak of the brown card stock showing.

I grabbed another ECHO PARK paper called I LIKE BIG CUPS (now that that song is stuck in your head and the main reason I bought this sheet of paper) I swear I heard the other version of that song for hours after making this card!  Anyway, I fussy cut the one that says, well, I LIKE BIG CUPS AND I CAN NOT LIE! and backed it to the same brown card stock and inked the edges with some Tim Holtz Distressed Inks in Walnut Stain. I popped it up on foam tape and adhered it to the card.

I then went into my new FAVORITE Coffee, Best Friends, sentiments from AlteNew called Friends Forever.  It has this huge to go cup stamp with a sleeve that I absolutely love and think it's the PERFECT size!  I stamped that using my Tim Holtz stamping platform onto a piece of GORGEOUS 6x6 paper from PRIMA MARKETING from their PUMPKIN AND SPICE collection with my Stayz On Black ink.  I then took the double hearts from the same stamp set and stamped the sleeve part of the cup.  I fussy cut it and then tucked it under the I LIKE BIG CUPS AND I CAN NOT LIE! cut apart.

I dug deep into my stash and found not one but 2 COFFEE washi-tape rolls that were perfect.  I added them to a piece of the brown card stock paper, adhered them down and then used some foam tape to pop it up off the card.  I left just enough room for the edges of the card to peak out along with some of the bottom of the card.

Here is how it turned out

Here are the link to some of the items I used from Piececraftlove.com The washi-tape was from a purchase from Michael's a while ago.
ADHISIVE -    ART GLITTER GLUE

Now, on to my 2nd card!  For this one I used my new FAVORITE paper and embellishment collection ever!  It's the PRIMA MARKETING, PUMPKIN & SPICE Collection.  Oh you guys this collection is gorgeous.  It's a non-traditional fall color collection that I am IN LOVE WITH! I've used it on layouts and cards and it is so versatile!

I cut the A2 size card-face from a paper out of their 6x6 paper pad.  Each paper has 4 of each of the patterns which is awesome!  It is super heavy paper and so easy to work with.

I pulled out my Tim Holtz stamp platform and I took out the SENTIMENT from the ALTENEW Friends Forever stamp set.  I actually bought the set because of this sentiment!  I used my Stayz On Black Ink and stamped the sentiment onto the pattern paper.

This peachy, washed out paper that I chose was just so pretty that I had to use it.  It matched so well with the coordinating ephemera paper...which I used to make this cute little "sign".  I backed it with the same paper I used for the coffee cup above (we waist no paper here, lol).  I popped it up on foam tape to give it some dimension.

I then found another piece of ephemera from the collection that was a sign that I didn't think I would use but loved the part that looks like it's hanging the picture so I tucked it underneath the KEEP CALM AND ENJOY FALL piece and then used some of that black and which checkered pattern paper from the same pad to cut 2 small flag-banners and tucked them under that cute saying.  I then grabbed the puffy stickers from this collection and just fell in love with the black and white checkered heart that matched the flag-banners under the "hanging picture" so I sued it along with the SO THANKFUL puffy sticker that I placed below the stamped sentiment!

Here is how it turned out

Here is all the fun goodness that I used from the Prima Marketing Collection.

Well guys, that's it.  These are my cards I made for World Card Making Day!  They aren't the fancy, color/shading/popping out cards that amaze me, but I think they are super cute!

Tag You're It Challenge - Day 6

Hi guys thanks so much for stopping by and following along on this Tag You're It hop sponsored by....

 Piece Craft Love!

To learn more about this hop, go here.

I'm here on Day 6 and guess what?  I loved using my Simple Stories Birthday Collection so much that I chose to use the PARTY PROMPT again and make a Birthday Card!

I started out like this

I started with an A4 card stock in White that I got from Color Play...some times I'm just too lazy to cut my own🤷🏻‍♀️

From the Simple Stories Birthday Blast Collection I used a Cut-A-Part that said "Happy Birthday", the 6x8 paper pad (I chose a solid blue and a confetti pattern) for the front of the card, along with a scrap of red card stock that I adhered lengthwise and added some of my Nuvo Crystal Drops in Dandelion Yellow.

For the inside of the card also used some of the ephemera pack and found 2 really cute TAGS for the inside with a banner to match!  I also decided to add a bit of mixed media with some TIM HOLTS DISTRESSED INKS in SQUEEZED LEMONADE and CRACKED PISTACHIO along with a star stencil and I loved how it turned out!

Here is the finished product:

Pop over to my YouTube Channel to see how this came together!

2020 SPRING | SUMMER COFFEE LOVERS BLOG HOP!

Today marks the second year of doing this coffee lovers blog hop!  I did 2 (one in 2018 and one in 2019) Both were the Winter Blog Hops and loved it!  I was hooked on making cards after that! Who knew I could make a card nice enough to send to someone!  At first I was intimidated by the oh, so talented bunch in the Coffee Loving Cardmaking Facebook Group (I highly recommend joining this awesome group if you are into Coffee or Card Making and especially if you are into both)!  But after following, learning and Blog Hopping I was in!

Click Here for a link to all of the sponsors, the sales they are offering for this hop (act quick, this hop ends soon) and the awesome inspiration they all share!

For this hop, I wanted to make a more Spring colored card (rather than the usual coffee colors) so I dug into my Echo Park Coffee Collection sticker sheet (as you can see I love this collection) to start off and found this perfect COFFEE AND FRIENDS sticker and started my cards off with those colors!

I then grabbed some blue card stock paper (to pull out the blues in the sticker) and some bright, springy colored pattern card stock paper and a tiny piece of a cut apart with colors to die for (for the hearts and the top of the coffee cup).  This just goes to show...I'm NOT A HORDER of paper but someone who knows I will eventually use that tiny piece on some layout or card😬...all of those papers I had in my stash.

Lastly, and so super excited to finally be able to use these new dies and stamps from Crafters Companion that I purchased from HSN a few months ago...come on, coffee themed and a SALE!  Who wouldn't have???

I started off with this amazing blue card stock, cut it down to a slightly smaller size than A4 card so that the pattern paper behind it (cut to A4 size) would be seen.  I layered another cut of the pattern paper on top of the blue card stock and then added a blue strip of the same card stock down the middle to break up the pattern a bit.  I then backed the COFFEE AND FRIENDS sticker from Echo Park on to a pink/rose colored card stock (again, old stash) and used some foam adhesive to the back to give it a bit of dimension.

I then die cut the coffee mug and 3 hearts (1 out of the pink/rose colored paper and 2 out of the heart pattern paper).  The coffee die set came with its own stamps so I chose the FRIENDS KEEP YOUR HEART WARM sentiment to stick with the friends theme that was on the sticker.  I backed the 2 hearts and the coffee mug with foam adhesive to give it some dimension and added a white heart brad to the pink/rose heart cut out at the top.

Well, there you have it.  This layout came together quick for me.  It's a simple card that looks like I spent a lot of time doing.  The best layouts and cards aren't always the once that take hours or days.

Collections I used:
Crafter's Companion Coffee Die and Stamp Collection (gemini)

2019 Coffee Loving Papercrafters Blog Hop!

Hey guys, I'm hopping on here to show you a few cards I created this year for the 2019 Coffee Loving Papercrafter Fall/Winter Blog Hop!

I know I'm usually doing Scrapbooking layouts but if you think about it, card making and Scrapbooking crossover into each others worlds and what a wonderful world Amy Tsuruta has created with this group!

This is actually my Anniversary, yeap, exactly 1 year ago I found the Coffee Loving Papercrafters FB page (totally by accident, it was the Coffee that drew me in😬) and I crossed over to the "dark side" as they say.

Since last year I have only made a handful of cards, but it was nice to know that I had the know how and confidence to not only make them but send them out!  I mean, how intimidating is it to see all of those hundreds of cards in the store, knowing people pay good money for to send out, that look professional?  Pretty intimidating to me!  I never thought I would be able to make a card that I would actually send out...but I have and I'm super proud of how they turned out and the excitement of the person receiving it is a bonus!

I never really knew how really special, time consuming and the worth of a handmade item was until I started doing them.

As I said, this is my Second year doing this Blog Hop.  Last year I was so proud of my self (patting myself on my back😉) to enter 1 card, this year...I made 4!

If you want to join this fabulous community on FB click here (they always have codes for sales from amazing stamping and die companies throughout the year so make sure you take advantage of that!) (Please click here to see some of the amazing sponsors that were part of this hop and to see some amazing inspiration on card making)

Again, a big SHOUT OUT to Amy Tsuruta for sponsoring this amazing, super coffee loving blog hop again this year with all the amazing prizes and super sponsors!  To see all the stats from the inception of this amazing Hop to now (the numbers are amazing) click here! And just a side note, I actually won a prize from Hero Arts on this blog hop this year! It may have been chosen my Random.org but it was still a great feeling to win a prize during this fabulous hop...so another SHOUT OUT and Thank You to one of the super sponsors, Hero Arts for my prize!

Happy Scrapbooking (and card making!)

A-4 Coffee Card

Hey guys!

This was a challenge I'm doing for the Coffee Loving Papercrafters on their FB page.  To join their group click here...always fun challenges and prizes too!

The challenge was to make a card following these rules this week:

REMEMBER THIS IS CLEAN AND SIMPLE WEEK - THESE ARE THE RULES WE POST EVERY CAS CHALLENGE

What do we mean by Clean and Simple?
  • Minimal layers and embellishments
  • Plenty of open space, aka "white" space
  • Simple and uncluttered

I just wanted to jump on and show you how simple this card was to make.
  1. measured 8 1/2 my 11 and cut it to  5 1/2 to make the A-4 card using white card stock.
  2. I measured the card at 4 1/4 and creased it to make the fold
  3. I used a strip of left over scraps to make the border on the bottom.
  4. I used my sticker sheet from Echo Park Coffee Collection for the "Messy Bunn & Coffee Run"girl.
  5. Added another sticker from the same collection to the bottom border.
  6. Used my tiny heart stamp to stamp 2 hearts on the bottom border and one in the upper right corner of the "Messy Bun..." sticker.
  7. I used my Stamp from the stamp collection from Ink Road Stamps to stamp "today's good mood SPONSORED BY COFFEE" in brown ink.
  8. I added brown acrylic paint splatters on the white space just to give it a little something extra without covering all of the white space.
Well There you have it!  I hope you are able to follow along with this blog hop.  Please leave a comment to let me know what you think.  This was super easy to make!

Until Next time!  Coffee on...

Puffy Heart Shaker Card, #47 of the 365 scrapbook challenge and what lessons I learned with this layout

Hi Newbies,

I'm here working on #47 of my 365 page layout challenge for 2019!  - and yes I do include cards and 8x8 mini albums as part of my layout challenge - -just saying😬

I will try to link all of the items used (and possibly where I bought them) just in case you decide you like any of it.

I've been seeing all of these shaker cards and decided that I wanted to try to make one.  Well...this layout will have a lot of lessons in it🤦🏻‍♀️

First I want to start off by saying the card makers that make these cards have tremendous talent!  I am in awe of the beautify they create and how easy they make it look...it's not.  You would think making a card would be but, IT IS NOT!

This shaker card turned out to be an inside out shaker card.  I mean, who makes those? 🙋🏻‍♀️  This girl right here does.  Why?  Because when you have used all of the materials up to a certain point and then realize this is all wrong, you are not going to waste all of that money those materials cost and toss it.  So LESSON #1, even if it doesn't work one way, make it work another (and save those materials).

I started out with a pre-made card already scored in plain white.  I wanted to make a card to send to my sister and she LOVES hearts.  I have this awesome heart die that I don't use that often but I love the way it looks so I decided I would be different and use this intricate die to make a shaker card...and here comes LESSON #2, the words "intricate" and "shaker" should not be used in the same sentence.  The "shaker" part of the card needs to have room for the bits to...SHAKE🤦🏻‍♀️

I started off using some Shimmerz SPRITZ, in COTTON CANDY on the white card stock to give it some color and I loved the way that looked.  The shimmer to it was gorgeous!  I some how managed to mess up the fold on the pre-scored card by running it through my Big Shot so I had to be creative and use Washi tape to hide it...and here is LESSON #3, make a mistake, try to cover it up before tossing it and starting over.  This worked, the colors, the design...it all worked for this card so I went with it.

I always like trying to be different and decided that I would cut the heart die again but this time out of adhesive foam that I have in this amazing pink (see the theme here).  I couldn't believe that my Big Shot cut it...who knew (apparently everyone because it says that it cuts different material right on the directions on how to use it).  I was super excited!

I then opened the card and added the foam strips (like I've seen all the YouTube how to make a shaker card tell you to do).  After that, I placed the foam hearts into the die cut I made on the front of the card and it fit perfectly.  Once that was in it wasn't coming out and that's when it hit me...those bits were not going to shake at all in those hearts.

So now I have used some Shimmerz SPRITZ, Washi Tape, die cut the card, die cut my pink foam adhesive (purchased from Michaels.com) and had already gone through my stash  (some Vicki Boutin, ephemera pack and some Ink Road Stamps sequence), and pulled what I was going to use and even heat embossed some vellum with one of my Stamps from the set HAND MADE ESSENTIALS that I got from scrapbook.com (that was a freebie that you had to be at the right time and place to get because they went fast....LESSON #4,  follow some of your favorite scrapbooking and card making companies on IG and FB because they love to do giveaways)!

I was at a cross roads.  What to do, what to do...through all of it out, waste my materials and time it took and start all over?  I decided to continue instead of tossing it.

I had already put the foam tape on the inside and there was no getting that off without tearing the card so I put a backing on from a scrap piece of card stock that matched the pinks on the front (it would be showing through the front hearts die cut).

After that I was still wanting to make this a shaker card, I mean come on, I had went out and bought some bits and sequence and really wanted to try this so I went for it... just on the inside instead of the outside.   I mean when she opens the card...SURPRISE!  Shakers!! Who wouldn't love that!  So I guess this would be LESSON #5 (I told you there were a lot of lessons with this one), just because something is suppose to be made one way, switch it up and make it your way.  No rules...just creativity!  So GO FOR IT!

I followed the directions from some of the YouTube videos and went for it and it worked!  However,  and here comes LESSON #6 for this work of art...make sure you like your background BEFORE you start finishing up the card.

After I made the shaker part successfully, I hated the all white background so I started trying to fix it with a Wonky frame cut from pink scrap I had left over and using Nuvo Embellishing Mousse in Peony Pink I had gotten from Sparklensprinkle.net.  Let me tell you how hard it is to try to use Mousse when you have something you don't want the Mousse on.  I had to cover each side as I used the Mousse and try to get all the white covered.  As you can tell not only did I not get all the white covered...the Wonky frame I tried to use to cover the Shaker part up didn't quite make it around the entire shaker part.  Ugh!

But, seriously I couldn't stop now!  So I stamped the other side with pink ink from Ranger and a really old block stamp I had and really liked it...except for the all white back ground so I got creative with some Lemon Sorbet Nuvo Mousse  PURPOSELY leaving some white around the wording because I liked that look.

I added the hearts that came out of the die (which is one reason I love this die, not only do you get the see through hearts, you get the cut out ones to use as well).

Well, it may not be perfect but it was made with love!

There you have it...number 47 of my 365 layout challenge for 2019.  Thanks for following along on my journey of 365 scrapbook page challenge that I am doing, and reading about the lessons I'm learning along the way!
