Coffee card - Did You Ever Want To Say?

Hey guys, I'm here as a guest designer for the Coffee Loving Papercrafters blog post and I am so excited!  They are all about coffee and since discovering them my stamps and dies for everything coffee has gown...STRONG, you know, like coffee😂☕️😂

This card is how I feel most mornings when my body aches or my MS is acting up...I literally have a cup of coffee in my hand and just say "Nope, not today"   Ugh! Some days life is just a bit much and is why I reach for that second cup of coffee most days. But hey, we all have our struggles in life and well, coffee helps and then we take on whatever part of the day we can.

I am loving this stamp from Crackerbox Stamps.  Her name is "Helen" and she seems to look like she needs more than just one cup of coffee most mornings too!  I mean her struggles look real!

I started out by stamping her with some alcohol friendly black ink.  I like to use Memento in Tuxedo Black when I am using my alcohol markers on a stamped image.  It's the best one that I've found to not smudge when using the markers.  In the Copic Markers I used Y08, Y11, C1, E0000, RV14, R32, B23, B26 and in the SPECTRUM NIOR, I used, E56.  I also used some glossy accents on her cup and the steam.

The stamp set from Crackerbox stamp also came with the sentiment, "DID YOU EVER WANT TO SAY?".  I stamped the sentiment and used one of my nested dies from my stash to die cut it and then I used a fine tip black pen to sketch an outline around the sentiment just to make it pop.   I added a background layer from a paper pack from BRASS and BLISS called JAVA GOOD TIME.  I also used one of the bigger dies from the same nested die set to cut and layer it them together.

I dug into my scraps and found that polkadot pattern paper, a brown card stock from the JAVA GOOD TIME paper collection and a bright yellow card stock from my stash - just to make her yellow mug pop - and then I layered them all.  I popped her up with some foam tape, adhered her and the sentiment to the front and then started on the inside of the card.

I grabbed a nesting die set I got from SBC to cut a frame using another coffee pattern paper from Brass and Bliss...have I told you I just love Brass and Bliss and I discovered them through one of the hops? They are also a SUPER SPONSOR of The coffee Loving Papercrafters...boy, they sure have enabled me to find a LOT of great stamp and die companies, maybe too much 😂   After die cutting that thick frame, I popped it up on foam tape.

I pulled a frame die from Brass and Bliss, called INSIDE SCALLOP FRAME.  I die cut it out of the same bright yellow card stock I used on the frot of my card to give some pop and to make and outside and inside the card cohesive.  I adhered the coffee frame to the yellow card stock and then adhered that to the inside of the card.

I grabbed another sentiment stamp from Pajama Crafter Stamp- "NOPE, NOT TODAY".  I used another die from my stash from Kat Scrappiness and stamped, die cut and adhered it to the inside of that coffee frame.  I found that little kitten in my plate of...I'll put it away some day, stash…that never seems to get put away.  I thought he looked super cute and I was happy to find him a great home.

I sure hope I inspired you to reach into your stash and pull all the things to make a fun coffee card today.

Stay crafty my friends,

Kimberly

Miss Dee Coffee Card - A Cafe, mocha, vodka, valium, latte to go please

Hi guys, I'm back on the Blogger with another card in my July Guest Designer Series.  If you like snarky cards as much as I do you will love Miss Dee!  She is quirky and snarky and I just adore her!  I managed to find 2 of the AALL & Create, Miss Dee stamps on Etsy as a PNG file!  That blew my mind because I didn't think you could get them in a PNG file.  I found them on VERA LANE STUDIOS.  I do love working with PNG's because you can store them on your computer so no shelf space needed and you can resize her to what ever size you want.  I resized her to fit on another PNG background I purchased from Etsy called COFFEE SHOP by Fantasy Digitals and just printed it out...EASY PEESY!
I started out with  a brown 80lb card stock for my base and used the Stamperia stencil called ALICE IN CHRISTMAS - HARLEQUIN.  I used CLOUD WHITE by VersaMagic.  I set it aside and started working with the PNG files.

I pulled the Coffee Shop PNG into my PAGES along with Miss Dee.  I put her in front of the Coffee Shop image and sized her to fit into that space.  I printed the image as one and it comes out with her uncolored.  So cool right!  All I had to do is color her in with my Copic and Spectrum Noir markers.

I pulled out my Crackerbox stamps, COFFEE 1 stamp set and used that hilarious sentiment...I'LL HAVE A CAFE, MOCHA, VODKA, VALIUM, LATTE TO GO PLEASE.  Oh my gosh I am cracking up because it looks like Miss Dee is handing it right to me😆  I'm telling you this is my mood these past 6 weeks with life piling more and more on my plate!   Crackerbox has the funniest and snarky stamps sets and I love that they are one of our Super Sponsor during our hops!

I stamped the sentiment out and die cut it using one of my quirky dies from my stash and then used my brayer to roll some CTMH ink (CAROLINA) on it, adhered everything to the card base and called it done!

Do you use PNG images to make cards?

I hope I was able to make you giggle and inspire you to get into your crafty space and make a card for someone you know and bring a smile to their face!

Stay crafty,
Kimberly

Holly Jolly Christmas Wishes card

Hey guys,  I'm here as a guest designer again for the month of July for the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge Blog #55 and I am so excited!

If you are a coffee lover this blog and challenge is for you!  Each month they host a challenge, challenging you to make a Christmas card using either coffee or hot cocoa/tea themed card.  I am a huge coffee lover and I also have a love for coffee cards.  My stash of coffee/hot cocoa and tea overrunneth, just like my coffee cup in the mornings!
Today I started out with a little inspiration I took from one of the Pretty Pink Posh cards on their website...I love getting inspired by others!

I used a die set from them called WINTER MUG.  It is so good and comes with a large coffee mug, a candy cane, ghost, leaf, marshmallow and a couple of other bits.
OK, so is anyone else like me and have quite a collection of old stash of just about everything?  I have 2 bins of Christmas bits and bobs and paper and an entire 9x7 storage bin full of Christmas dies and stamps.  So when I reached into my stash of Christmas papers I had plenty to pick from.

I found this nice shade of textured red card stock which I loved. I die cut the coffee cup but wasn't satisfied with it so I ran it through a 3D embossing folder I have from Spellbinders and loved how it came out.

I then reached into my stash of Whimsy stamps goodies...oh I just love that shop!  I had purchased a honeycomb drips stencil a few months ago and hadn't used it yet so I pulled it out and used the drip part to make the mug look like it was overflowing with goodness.  I actually cut another mug, stenciled the white card stock with some CTMH SHORTBREAD ink and then fussy cut the the drips and adhered it to the red mug.
I started digging through all the Christmas papers and goodies I have in my stash and came across the paper with the music notes with a vintage vibe to it.  I also had a scrap piece with MERRY EVERTHING and HAPPY ALWAYS printed on it so I layered them at an angle and adhered it down to the the green gingham paper which I layered on top of a black 85lb card stock.

I grabbed my Stampendous! SNOWMAN HUGS die set and die cut the candy cane.
I thought something else was missing so I die cut it again out of some red foil card stock and snipped it so it didn't have the curved part...so it looks like a peppermint stick or cinnamon stick.

I decided to give it a little extra and added some WOW embossing SPARKLING SNOW and heat embossed some of the candy cane, cinnamon stick and the drips.  I adhered it all together and layered it on top of the Christmas papers.

I found my Arden laser cuts, SEASON OF JOY and pulled out some Christmas stamps, poinsettia leaves, a heart and a small tag with a cute bow from the collection and layered them around the mug.  I also found the HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS and CHRISTMAS WISHES sentiments in the collection and thought they would be perfect for this card!

I die cut the snowflake from the Pretty Pink Posh Winter Mug set and adhered it down.  I added a thin piece of green foiled card stock, that I ran through another 3D embossing folder, to the bottom of the card just for added texture, adhered it all down and called it done!

I hope I inspired you to hop along with us this month for this coffee loving, Christmas fueled hop; make a coffee inspired Christmas card for someone special, get some inspiration from others and don't forget, there is a prize each month, so maybe even win a prize!

Thanks for hanging out with me today,
Stay crafty,
Kimberly

Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge #36

Hi guys, I'm up on the blog hopping on the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge #36.    The THEME is Snowman, and who doesn't love a good snowman in the middle of winter!  This is the first time I'm making a 5x7 card!

I pulled out my STAMPENDOUS! Snowman Hugs die and the coordinating stamp set.  This Die set is sooooo cute and comes with 2 different size snowmen and some cute Christmas icons too.  I got this stamp set a few months ago and haven't even played with it yet so when I saw this challenge I had to play along.

I started off die cutting all the pieces and trying to find some Christmas paper to coordinate the hat and scarf and since I have a HUGE stash of Christmas paper that wasn't a problem.  After putting the 2 snowmen (or should I say snow adult and snow child) together with their cute hat and scarfs, I reached into my stash and got my Gemini stamp set that had the cute HOT CHOCOLATE sentiment and stamped the card.

I grabbed my Momenta die set of snowflakes and die cut 3 out, glued them on and added some red half pearls to bring some more red into the card.  I added the snowman, popping the small one up on foam tape.

The coffee cup stamp is an old stamp set I've had for years, I stamped it, added a snowflake stamp in red and then used my Copic Markers to color in the cup.

Here is the finished 5x7 card!  I do like how it turned out and so happy I bought this die set, it is so versatile with the add on dies and stamps it has.

Thanks for hanging out with me and here's the link so you can head over and join the fun!

Spring/Summer Coffee Blog Hop 2020 - card#2

Hi guys, I'm up on the blog putting together another coffee themed card for the Spring/Summer Coffee themed blog hop 2020 with this amazing Coffee Loving Cardmaking Facebook Group (I highly recommend joining this awesome group if you are into Coffee or Card Making and especially if you are into both)!

Click Here for a link to all of the sponsors, the sales they are offering for this hop (act quick, this hop ends soon) and the awesome inspiration they all share!

For this card, I wanted to keep it to the Spring/Summer colors (rather than the usual coffee colors) so I dug into my some bright colored scraps and off I went!

I made sure to grab the scraps I had left over from an amazing white, linen paper I just discovered at Hobby Lobby.  I love this paper because it soaks up the inks really well and you can do amazing stamping and blending with this paper!

After picking out the brightest Spring/Summer colors I cut them all down to A2 and smaller in order to layer them.  I also did a bit of distressed work on all sides of each piece I cut out.

After adhering them down I went to town on stamping the linen card stock with this cute, frappe stamp from Ink Roads Stamps.  I chose to stamp them in Hero Arts, OMBRE  (Pink to Red), which is what I also stamped the sentiment JAVA NICE DAY in.  I then broke out my water colors with a slight shimmer to them and added the coloring of the frappe cups and straws.  I'm loving how the water colors turned out...kind of reminds me of the Unicorn drinks that Starbucks was selling a while back.  I then die cut a small piece of pink twin and tied it into a little bow and adhered it to the sentiment.

Well, there you have it.  This layout came together quick for me.  It's a simple card that looks like I spent a lot of time doing.  The best layouts and cards aren't always the once that take hours or days.

2020 SPRING | SUMMER COFFEE LOVERS BLOG HOP!

Today marks the second year of doing this coffee lovers blog hop!  I did 2 (one in 2018 and one in 2019) Both were the Winter Blog Hops and loved it!  I was hooked on making cards after that! Who knew I could make a card nice enough to send to someone!  At first I was intimidated by the oh, so talented bunch in the Coffee Loving Cardmaking Facebook Group (I highly recommend joining this awesome group if you are into Coffee or Card Making and especially if you are into both)!  But after following, learning and Blog Hopping I was in!

Click Here for a link to all of the sponsors, the sales they are offering for this hop (act quick, this hop ends soon) and the awesome inspiration they all share!

For this hop, I wanted to make a more Spring colored card (rather than the usual coffee colors) so I dug into my Echo Park Coffee Collection sticker sheet (as you can see I love this collection) to start off and found this perfect COFFEE AND FRIENDS sticker and started my cards off with those colors!

I then grabbed some blue card stock paper (to pull out the blues in the sticker) and some bright, springy colored pattern card stock paper and a tiny piece of a cut apart with colors to die for (for the hearts and the top of the coffee cup).  This just goes to show...I'm NOT A HORDER of paper but someone who knows I will eventually use that tiny piece on some layout or card😬...all of those papers I had in my stash.

Lastly, and so super excited to finally be able to use these new dies and stamps from Crafters Companion that I purchased from HSN a few months ago...come on, coffee themed and a SALE!  Who wouldn't have???

I started off with this amazing blue card stock, cut it down to a slightly smaller size than A4 card so that the pattern paper behind it (cut to A4 size) would be seen.  I layered another cut of the pattern paper on top of the blue card stock and then added a blue strip of the same card stock down the middle to break up the pattern a bit.  I then backed the COFFEE AND FRIENDS sticker from Echo Park on to a pink/rose colored card stock (again, old stash) and used some foam adhesive to the back to give it a bit of dimension.

I then die cut the coffee mug and 3 hearts (1 out of the pink/rose colored paper and 2 out of the heart pattern paper).  The coffee die set came with its own stamps so I chose the FRIENDS KEEP YOUR HEART WARM sentiment to stick with the friends theme that was on the sticker.  I backed the 2 hearts and the coffee mug with foam adhesive to give it some dimension and added a white heart brad to the pink/rose heart cut out at the top.

Well, there you have it.  This layout came together quick for me.  It's a simple card that looks like I spent a lot of time doing.  The best layouts and cards aren't always the once that take hours or days.

2019 Coffee Loving Papercrafters Blog Hop!

Hey guys, I'm hopping on here to show you a few cards I created this year for the 2019 Coffee Loving Papercrafter Fall/Winter Blog Hop!

I know I'm usually doing Scrapbooking layouts but if you think about it, card making and Scrapbooking crossover into each others worlds and what a wonderful world Amy Tsuruta has created with this group!

This is actually my Anniversary, yeap, exactly 1 year ago I found the Coffee Loving Papercrafters FB page (totally by accident, it was the Coffee that drew me in😬) and I crossed over to the "dark side" as they say.

Since last year I have only made a handful of cards, but it was nice to know that I had the know how and confidence to not only make them but send them out!  I mean, how intimidating is it to see all of those hundreds of cards in the store, knowing people pay good money for to send out, that look professional?  Pretty intimidating to me!  I never thought I would be able to make a card that I would actually send out...but I have and I'm super proud of how they turned out and the excitement of the person receiving it is a bonus!

I never really knew how really special, time consuming and the worth of a handmade item was until I started doing them.

As I said, this is my Second year doing this Blog Hop.  Last year I was so proud of my self (patting myself on my back😉) to enter 1 card, this year...I made 4!

If you want to join this fabulous community on FB click here (they always have codes for sales from amazing stamping and die companies throughout the year so make sure you take advantage of that!) (Please click here to see some of the amazing sponsors that were part of this hop and to see some amazing inspiration on card making)

Again, a big SHOUT OUT to Amy Tsuruta for sponsoring this amazing, super coffee loving blog hop again this year with all the amazing prizes and super sponsors!  To see all the stats from the inception of this amazing Hop to now (the numbers are amazing) click here! And just a side note, I actually won a prize from Hero Arts on this blog hop this year! It may have been chosen my Random.org but it was still a great feeling to win a prize during this fabulous hop...so another SHOUT OUT and Thank You to one of the super sponsors, Hero Arts for my prize!

Happy Scrapbooking (and card making!)

A-4 Coffee Card

Hey guys!

This was a challenge I'm doing for the Coffee Loving Papercrafters on their FB page.  To join their group click here...always fun challenges and prizes too!

The challenge was to make a card following these rules this week:

REMEMBER THIS IS CLEAN AND SIMPLE WEEK - THESE ARE THE RULES WE POST EVERY CAS CHALLENGE

What do we mean by Clean and Simple?
  • Minimal layers and embellishments
  • Plenty of open space, aka "white" space
  • Simple and uncluttered

I just wanted to jump on and show you how simple this card was to make.
  1. measured 8 1/2 my 11 and cut it to  5 1/2 to make the A-4 card using white card stock.
  2. I measured the card at 4 1/4 and creased it to make the fold
  3. I used a strip of left over scraps to make the border on the bottom.
  4. I used my sticker sheet from Echo Park Coffee Collection for the "Messy Bunn & Coffee Run"girl.
  5. Added another sticker from the same collection to the bottom border.
  6. Used my tiny heart stamp to stamp 2 hearts on the bottom border and one in the upper right corner of the "Messy Bun..." sticker.
  7. I used my Stamp from the stamp collection from Ink Road Stamps to stamp "today's good mood SPONSORED BY COFFEE" in brown ink.
  8. I added brown acrylic paint splatters on the white space just to give it a little something extra without covering all of the white space.
Well There you have it!  I hope you are able to follow along with this blog hop.  Please leave a comment to let me know what you think.  This was super easy to make!

Until Next time!  Coffee on...

Today's Good Mood Sponsored by Coffee - Layout #14 of the 365 scrapbook challenge and what lessons I learned with this layout

Hey Newbies,

I'm here working on number 14 of my 365 Page Layout Challenge 2019 (and the lessons I learned).  I will try to list everything I used below and try to link up to where you can purchase them if you happen to like any of them.

This isn't one of my usual 12 x 12 Layouts (but it still counts as part of my 365 Layout Challenge😬).  Today I am working on a card.  I haven't done too many, actually this is my 3rd card I've ever done!  I was inspired by Amy Tsuruta (click here for her IG account or here for her blog) on the Coffee Loving Papercrafters FB page.  Check them out because they are all about cards and COFFEE and discount codes and contests and prizes and all kinds of fun stuff and awesome designs!  I mean who doesn't love coffee, discounts and beautiful cards?

I did my first blog hop with her and her group which is how I got into coffee loving card making, and won a prize!  (see my blog about that here)

So I woke up I went onto FB and was inspired to make this coffee loving card!  Since it is almost February I chose to do some hearts (with Valentines day coming up and all).  I had this die cut and stamp set (I do love coffee and have a couple of them that I have used on my 12 x 12 layouts in the past).  This one is available at Scrapbook.com.  The hearts were a set I had gotten prior to getting this coffee set and the sentiment is from Ink Roads Stamps (so love her stuff!).

I started with an actual blank card (I purchased a pack at Michael's in plain white heavy card stock with envelopes).  I found some 12 x 12 card stock in my stash that was a tan color with a faint background design.  I thought it was perfect for this stamp.  I cut the card stock to fit the front of the pre-made card (I think that is considered cheating in the card marking world but not sure...I am really a NEWBIE in the card making department for sure!  I don't have a score board or a lot of die cuts to fit cards so I improvise).   Amy says I will come over to the dark side soon!🤣

After I cut the tan card stock to fit the front of the card, and here comes LESSON 1; make sure that you are perfectly aligned before you let the glued backing hit the front of your card...trying to unstick paper on paper is not easy and bent up the card a bit🤦🏻‍♀️.

After I finish fixing the alignment issue, I started to stamp the hearts on to the front, and here comes LESSON #2; ALWAYS use your stamping platform if you have one!  Just because it is a simple layout doesn't mean you will always get the perfect image stamped so do it right the first time.  So I did use my Tim Holtz Stamping Platform so that I could get a rich, dark stamp.

I added the "Today's good mood SPONSORED BY COFFEE" sentiment at the bottom and finished it off with some black Decal dots (also purchased at Michaels) on each side.

I was going to leave the inside of the card blank but I  was in a good mood and it WAS sponsored by coffee so I got out a collection of stamps and started stamping away with some feel good sentiments!  I finished the inside of the card with some washi tape that I found at Michael's that says "hello"!   I did leave a little space for some writing room just in case I decide to send it off to a friend.

Well, there you have it...number 14 of my 365 layout challenge for 2019.  Thanks for following along on my journey of 365 scrapbook page challenge that I am doing, and reading about the lessons I'm learning along the way!  Please leave a comment and let me know what you think about my 3rd card ever!

Please join our FB page for more challenges and to share your layouts with the group or come follow me on IG!
Happy Scrapping🤗
