Coffee, because adulting is hard - #Mug Life

Well I am back with my fifth and final card for my guest designer series for July and boy isn't this one true!  Adulting is hard and coffee is always my go to for it...some days it may or may not have (defiantly may) a bit of Irish Cream in it for the adulting part ๐Ÿ˜‚

I started off with a solid mat of brown from my K&Company 4x6 paper pad.  I found these at Ollies for almost nothing.  I bought two of them because I loved them so much and I keep going back to see if they get any more in but Ollies is definitely a hit or miss with card making supplies.  Supposedly they bought out some of Joann's stock but our Ollies isn't well stocked at all so I have to go here and there to see if they've gotten anything new in.  Do you have an Ollies near you?  If so you should definitely check them out because their scrapbook and card making supplies are ridiculously LOW priced!

I pulled out my brand new Pretty Pink Posh die plate and I am LOVING it!  They are a SUPER SPONSOR and have some great dies and other goodies in their shop, so if you have a chance, hop over there and take a peek.  I used this argyle stitched plate on the brown 4x6 paper for my base and then moved on to making my background.

I'm not going to lie, I struggled with the background.  I wanted it awesome with coffee words scattered and inks and splatters and...well it took me 3 tries and I had to calm it down a bit.  It got a bit over powering for an A2 card so I ended up using 3 distressed oxides (Feather Peacock, Ground Espresso and Gathered Twigs).  After ink blending the background I grabbed a stencil I had in my stash to make some coffee splatters.  I reached into one of my stamp sets from Crafter's Companion and stamped the heart "steam" and called the background done...and I am not mad at it!  I did use a nested wonky die from Scrapbook. com to die cut it out and adhered it to my base.

That chinchilla stamp set is from La La Land Crafts and is so stinking cute! I love all the sentiments in the set as well.  After I colored him in with my Copics I added a sticker of a pair of glasses I found in my stash just to add a little something to him.

The coffee cup is from another SUPER SPONSOR for The Coffee Loving Papercrafters, Crackerbox Stamps.  They have some awesome coffee stamp sets so hop on over and take a look.  I actually used a light hand with the Gathered Twig distressed oxide to color in the mug along with the Ground Espresso for the top of the cup so it looked like dark coffee.  I added some glossy accents to give it a wet look to it and some dimension.  I adhered everything together, added some flat pearls from Kat Scrappiness and called it done.

I was so thrilled to be a guest designer for the month of July and I hope I was able to inspire you to get into your crafty space and make a handmade coffee card for someone who shares your love of coffee as much as you do!

Stay Crafty my friends,

Kimberly

Coffee card - Did You Ever Want To Say?

Hey guys, I'm here as a guest designer for the Coffee Loving Papercrafters blog post and I am so excited!  They are all about coffee and since discovering them my stamps and dies for everything coffee has gown...STRONG, you know, like coffee๐Ÿ˜‚☕️๐Ÿ˜‚

This card is how I feel most mornings when my body aches or my MS is acting up...I literally have a cup of coffee in my hand and just say "Nope, not today"   Ugh! Some days life is just a bit much and is why I reach for that second cup of coffee most days. But hey, we all have our struggles in life and well, coffee helps and then we take on whatever part of the day we can.

I am loving this stamp from Crackerbox Stamps.  Her name is "Helen" and she seems to look like she needs more than just one cup of coffee most mornings too!  I mean her struggles look real!

I started out by stamping her with some alcohol friendly black ink.  I like to use Memento in Tuxedo Black when I am using my alcohol markers on a stamped image.  It's the best one that I've found to not smudge when using the markers.  In the Copic Markers I used Y08, Y11, C1, E0000, RV14, R32, B23, B26 and in the SPECTRUM NIOR, I used, E56.  I also used some glossy accents on her cup and the steam.

The stamp set from Crackerbox stamp also came with the sentiment, "DID YOU EVER WANT TO SAY?".  I stamped the sentiment and used one of my nested dies from my stash to die cut it and then I used a fine tip black pen to sketch an outline around the sentiment just to make it pop.   I added a background layer from a paper pack from BRASS and BLISS called JAVA GOOD TIME.  I also used one of the bigger dies from the same nested die set to cut and layer it them together.

I dug into my scraps and found that polkadot pattern paper, a brown card stock from the JAVA GOOD TIME paper collection and a bright yellow card stock from my stash - just to make her yellow mug pop - and then I layered them all.  I popped her up with some foam tape, adhered her and the sentiment to the front and then started on the inside of the card.

I grabbed a nesting die set I got from SBC to cut a frame using another coffee pattern paper from Brass and Bliss...have I told you I just love Brass and Bliss and I discovered them through one of the hops? They are also a SUPER SPONSOR of The coffee Loving Papercrafters...boy, they sure have enabled me to find a LOT of great stamp and die companies, maybe too much ๐Ÿ˜‚   After die cutting that thick frame, I popped it up on foam tape.

I pulled a frame die from Brass and Bliss, called INSIDE SCALLOP FRAME.  I die cut it out of the same bright yellow card stock I used on the frot of my card to give some pop and to make and outside and inside the card cohesive.  I adhered the coffee frame to the yellow card stock and then adhered that to the inside of the card.

I grabbed another sentiment stamp from Pajama Crafter Stamp- "NOPE, NOT TODAY".  I used another die from my stash from Kat Scrappiness and stamped, die cut and adhered it to the inside of that coffee frame.  I found that little kitten in my plate of...I'll put it away some day, stash…that never seems to get put away.  I thought he looked super cute and I was happy to find him a great home.

I sure hope I inspired you to reach into your stash and pull all the things to make a fun coffee card today.

Stay crafty my friends,

Kimberly

Bean Me Up - Coffee card

Hello, Wowsa, time just seems to fly by these days.  Summer is here and I am so excited to be invited back as a guest designer this month!  I hope I’m able to inspire you to get into your crafty space and make a card for someone special.

Today I’m starting with this pun card…Bean me up!  There has been a bit of an Alien spike in the news so I thought I would embrace it, lol.  Do I believe, nah, but if there is I’m sure they are flying by laughing at us!

I started out with a brown 80lb card stock for my base.  I used a white card stock and blended some distressed inks in Faded Jeans, Black Soot and Weather Wood and added some white acrylic paint splatters.

I hopped into my stash and used a stamp from one of our Super Sponsors, Crackerbox Stamps. I learned about them through one of the hops! They have some really great stamp sets.  This one is called COFFEE 1.

I used the coffee beans from the stamp set, stamping them on a gold foil card stock with some VERSAMARK watermark stamp, used my HERO embossing powder in Black and my WOW clear embossing powder.

I reached into my stamps and dies and pulled out a favorite of mine from AlteNew called FRIENDS FOREVER (retired).  This stamp set has gotten a lot of love from me.  I used the to go cup from the set and then ink blended it in distressed oxide, UNCHARTED MARINER.  I also used some Copic Markers (E23, E25, E13), I wasn’t all the way thrilled with the clear heat embossing on the beans so I used some glossy accents on them as well and I am not mad at it!

I set that aside and printed out this fun spaceship a crafty friend sent me and fussy cut it out.  How cute is that!  I also printed out the sentiment BEAN ME UP on some whit card stock and die cut the sleeve to the cup out and used the Copic markers to blend it and stamped a couple of beans on it with the glossy accents.  I popped the spaceship and the lid to the to go cup up on foam tape, added some white accents from a white jelly pen and called it done.

I do love the pun in this card, it makes for a cute coffee card to send out for any occasion.

I hope I inspired you to get into your crafty space and make a card and put a smile on someone’s face today.

Stay crafty,

Kimberly B.

Happy Holidays - Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge

Hey guys,  I'm so happy to be a guest designer this month for the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge Blog!  If you are a coffee lover this blog and challenge is for you!  Each month they host a challenge, challenging you to make a Christmas card using either coffee or hot cocoa/tea themed card.  I am a huge coffee lover and I also have a love for coffee cards.  My stash of coffee/hot cocoa and tea is HUGE!  So I was super excited when I was asked to guest design for this month!

I actually made a pretty simple card, because sometimes, life needs simple.  I have recently really gotten into digi stamps.  I think it's more out of the necessity of using less space in my craft room because I have no more space to use...I know I can't be the only one like that.  So today I downloaded a digi image from Angie Bloom Digital Designs, called LOVE YOU MORE, GIRL.

After I downloaded the image I popped it into Canva and put the Christmas tree behind it (the tree is part of Canva's elements) and then added the window in front of her so make it look like you are looking in seeing her relaxed and cozy by the tree sipping on her coffee, or hot cocoa.   The window actually comes with the digi stamp set.  I then downloaded the image to my computer, put it into my PAGES and printed it on some 110lb white card stock.

I used my Copic and Spectrum Noir Tri-blends to color her.  I then used some distressed oxide from Tim Holtz in Mustard Seed to give the tree a glow.

After coloring I reached into my Arden SEASON OF JOY collection and grabbed the frames in green and red to balance the card, added the gold foil card stock and the HAPPY HOLIDAYS sentiment (again from Arden's Season of Joy collection).  I did add a sketchy boarder around it using my fine point black pen just to make it pop.

Well that does it for this digi Christmas card.  I hope I inspired you to dig out those coffee inspired stamps and dies and head over to Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge and join in on the fun.

Stay crafty my friends,

Kimberly

Snarky Card - ...That's Why I'm Always Late

Hey guys, I'm up on the Blogger with a snarky card I made for the Pammies Inky Pinkies Blog Challenge.  I have really been in a snarky mood lately!

I'm starting off with an awesome stamp from CrackerBox Stamps. I will also link this stamp HERE so you can find it fast but it's under the COFFEE themed rubber stamps and well I just want to buy all their coffee themed stamps when I go into that category so you might just want to go directly to this girly.

I used my Copic Markers on Helen with coffee (that's the name of the stamp) and pulled out my glossy accents to do the steam coming off her coffee, and I am not mad at how it turned out.

After coloring her I dug into my AALL & Create snarky words HILARIOUS HEADLINES, be prepared if you buy these because some of them are really mean!  Anyhoo, I liked this snarky saying THEY SAY GOOD THINGS TAKE TIME...THAT'S WHY I'M ALWAYS LATE, because Helen here looks like she is always late!

I set those aside until I could find the paper I wanted to use.  I dug into my Doodlebug, PETITE PRINTS, CHERRY FLORAL-GRAPH and Echo Park- FASHIONISTA (I love this color).  I used the Cherry Floral-graph for my base, adhered one side of the Fashionista (it's double sided with one shade a little darker than the other) and then I cut a piece of black card stock with my Scrapbookcom Nested Wavy Rectangle dies. I also cut the other side of the Fashionista with a smaller nested wavy die from the same set and layered them.  That black really makes everything pop and makes the card cohesive.

I adhered all of those together, I added Helen with some foam tape and then glued the snarky sentiment under her.

I just love snarky cards!  Thanks so much for hanging out with me today!  I hope I inspired you to put a smile on someone's face today and make them a snarky card.

Have a crafty day!

OMG - Ewww, Is that your face!

Hey guys, I'm up on the Blogger with another snarky card for the→ Simon Says Stamping Blog Challenge. ←  The challenge is to make your own background and that's exactly what I did with this card.

I started off by stamping the image I got from Whimsy Stamps called MEME PEOPLE CLEAR STAMP I colored her in using my Copic Markers and my Spectrum Noir Markers and fussy cut her out.

Whimsy has a background stamp that is perfect for her but I don't have it so I made something similar by going into Canva, picking the icons, arranging them and then downloading and printing it out.  I do appreciate the inspiration from that Whimsy stamp for sure!  While I was in Canva I decided to make the speech bubble as well with the sentiment EWWW, IS THAT YOUR FACE!  I printed both out fussy cut the sentiment and inked it in Saltwater Taffy and cut the background to fit an A2 card.

Then I reached into my Whimsy basket and grabbed the OMG shadow die I have and die cut that out in 2 different shades of pink.

I grabbed my die from Brass and Bliss to cut the frame...it also cuts an inner piece that I used for the inside of my card...we don't waste anything in this craft room๐Ÿ˜‚  I cut it in blue to make her eyes pop.

I went into my scraps and grabbed the same shade of pink I used for the OMG die to make the A2 Base. I slid her just under the frame and adhered it all down.  I got out some white acrylic paint and did some splatters and called it done.

I just love making Snarky cards!  Do you have any stamps in your stash that are snarky and fun?

Thanks for hanging out with me today and I hope I have inspired you to make a card for someone and put a smile on their face.

Stay crafty!

Kimberly

Inky Paws Challenge #248

Hey guys I'm up on the Blogger doing the Inky Paws Challenge #248.  I just love these colors and they are perfect for Valentines day!  Here is the link to the Challenge and all the rules, I hope you join in on the fun.

Since you have to use an Inky Paws product I went to their website and downloaded a FREEBIE (how super sweet for them to do that).  They had a few so after looking at them I decided to go with this sweet bird "YOU'RE TWEET!".

After downloading it I colored it in (and tried my best to do some shading but guys I am STILL learning).  I used SPECTRUM NOIR tri-blends in PV1/PV3/PV4 and PP1/PP4/PP6 and then I grabbed a Copic Marker RV42.

After I finished up with the image I used a cloud stencil with some Saltwater Taffy and Lilac (CTMH) and die cute a big heart these Newton's Nook heart dies are perfect!  I also pulled a stamp that had some cursive writing on it and stamped using the LILAC from CTMH on 2 different scraps that matched the colors of the Challenge.

I pulled out a piece of 6x6 paper with ALL the colors from the challenge on it (Brass & Bliss) and cut and 1/8 smaller than a A2 card.  I then reached into my stash and pulled another color from the challenge  to back it at an A2 size.

I glued everything down, popping up one of the smaller hearts, and called it done!

I'm not mad at it.  Don't forget to head over to the Challenge and see all the amazing inspiration for this challenge.

Thanks for hanging out with me today...have a crafty day!

Coffee Lover Fall/Winter Blog Hop 2025 - Brew in Hand Big Plans Ahead

Hey guys, I am still making cards for the Fall Winter Blog hop.  Wowsa, this year I am really killing it with these coffee themed cards❗️  If you haven't ever participated or you need some amazing inspiration from DT's, Super Sponsors (lots of giveaways) or just all of us who love coffee themed anything, click on the link to find out how to join us this year.  It runs from November 7th - 14th (2025).

I'm here with a new card featuring some amazing La La Land Crafts stamps and papers.  If you haven't heard about La La Land Crafts you are missing out❗️  Here is a link to all of their website.

I started out with the La La Land Crafts 6x6 paper pack called IN THE CITY.  It is GORGEOUS and thick and did I say GORGEOUS? I love the scene on this one and the colors.  Since 2 sheets of the same scene come in each pack I used up both of them.  One I used as my base and the other one I used a fancy bracket die cut...I do like the look of a pop up on part of the paper that blends but still has a great demential effect.  I made sure to glue it to match up with the base paper.

I then took my Marci Coffee rubber stamp (sorry guys, it's part of their monthly club and isn't offered any other time that I know of) and I stamped her with some Momento black ink before using my Copic and Spectrum Noir markers to color and blend her in.  I'm not mad at the way she turned out but can I just say that the DT over on LaLaLand Crafts are PHENOMENAL at blending and well you will just have to go check them out.  I'm blown away and not sure I will ever be at that level...but again, not mad at her.

After I finished coloring and blending I fussy cut her out and added some foam tape to half of her and the other half was adhered to the popped out part of the bracket die.

I then reached into another coffee stamp set I got from LLLC, again part of that monthly kit so not available solo, and stamped the sentiment BREW IN HAND BIG PLANS AHEAD. I stamped it on a 4x6 K & COMPANY paper pad that I am in LOVE with called SOLID MAT (scooped 2 of them up at my Ollies which bought out some of Joann's stock when they went out of business and the price is STUPID CRAZY).

Inside of the card I used a paper pad from Hobby Lobby that had the color I felt matched pretty good.  I then used the rest of that LLLC paper and glued it over top of the 6x6 paper from Hobby Lobby...guys this stuff is so beautiful that I didn't want to waste any of it.

I then cut one of the fancy brackets (the largest one) and used some SALTWATER TAFFY distressed oxide to get the color I wanted and I glued it down.  I then had the rest of that paper left after cutting the fancy bracket for the front of the card and decided not to waste that either.  It brought the scene inside the card and I loved that look❗️ Using the smaller solid fancy bracket (why yes, yes they are a nesting die set) I stamped the sentiment that I had from Brass and Bliss called ALL YOU NEED IS COFFEE on top of the die.

Well, that's it...this is a bigger card than I usually make so I will need to make an envelope for it but I don't mind because I am definitely not mad at the way this turned out.

Thanks so much for hanging out with me for some more coffee loving cards.  Don't forget to head over to the blog and leave some love, get inspired and try hoping along with us this year.

I hope your day is fueled by coffee and love.

Coffee Lovers Fall/Winter Blog Hop 2025 - Coffee Time

Hey guys, yeap, I am here with yet another coffee themed card for the Coffee Lovers Fall/Winter Blog Hop 2025.  As always, here is a link to go over and check out all the inspiration and if you are a coffee/tea/hot cocoa lover join in and have some fun with us this year.

I am really loving all of my new coffee themed and inspired stamps and dies this year!  My collection has really grown.

Here is another one from the Amazon stamp set I bought that I don't love but I'm not too mad at it.

I started this one off with an A2 base in the same color as her sweater (or pretty darn close to it).  I added a slightly smaller coffee themed paper from Brass and Bliss called Java Good Time.

After adhering them together I moved on to cutting that postage frame (I got this from scrapbook . com). I used the largest and then the one that was 2 sizes smaller so I get that wide space in-between.  I adhered the large one down and then popped the smaller one up on foam tape.

I then used my stamp platform to stamp out the image.  I used my Spectrum Noir and Copic markers to color her in and then adhered her to the middle of that smaller postage die.

Using the same stamp set I stamped the sentiment "Coffee Time" along with 4 of the coffee beans.  I then reached for my Ranger Perfect Pearls and dusted the image before it dried and it gives that gold luster look to it.

Well that was a pretty easy card to make...I hope it inspired you to dig into your stamps and dies and make a card for that special someone.

Thanks for hanging out with me today,

Have a crafty card making kind of day,

Kimberly

Coffee Lover's Fall/Winter Blog Hop 2025

Hey guys, I'm here hopping along with this years Coffee Lover's Fall/Winter Blog hop.  Here is a link to find all the info and how to hop along with everyone.

Here is my 3rd Coffee Card and I decided to try something I've been trying to figure out how to do for a while.  Have you ever seen a card that looks like it's popped out with the same image but in different dimensions?  I really don't know how it's done but I gave it a shot, you can tell me in the comments if you think I got it right or if I'm close.

I started off with a paper pad from the awesome Brass & Bliss company.  I discovered them (I actually won a gift card on one the the Coffee Lover's Blog hops) and have been buying from them ever since!

They have some of the most fabulous stamps and dies ever and their paper pads are amazing!  The one I'm using is called Java Good Time.  I used 2 different papers, one for the card front and the other to die cut.

I cut the base down to an A2 card size and then I took my new dies from Whimsy stamps (oh I really have to say this is one of my most FAVORITE stores) This die is called  STAINED GLASS WINDOW and it was on CLEARANCE for $5 so YES PLEASE!  I used ALL the dies at the same time and die cut the patterned paper.  I then adhered the first 2 to my card front, then I used foam tape strips to pop up the next two and then the last two I adhered directly to the card front.  It gives it a dimensional look but still not quite what I was going for but I'm not mad at it.

I then reached for my stamp and dies from Brass & Bliss...how cute is that sloth?

I used some Copic and Spectrum Noir markers to color and shade in the image.  I also grabbed a coffee stamp from another stamp set from Brass & Bliss and stamped the sentiment.

I added some foam tape behind the middle of the image so it adheres to the card front as well as the pattern paper.  I added some bling to the top and some in the middle but I was going for a steamy kind of flow...not sure that really worked out but they were down and, yeap, not mad at it!

That's it, this one was pretty quick and I do like the dimension of the dies that still show the patterns where they are suppose to be.  What do you think?

Thanks for hanging out with me for this hop and I hope to see you hopping along with us!

Have a crafty day!
