KCS Designs - Ethereal Fairies Dream

Hey guys I'm up on the Blogger  as a Design Team member with KCS Designs by Kim.  You can find all of her amazing designs over on Etsy.  Her downloads are so easy to print and fussy cut and add as a focal point to any art journal, card, tag or whatever you are making.  Here is a direct link to her shop and one to the fairies.

Today I'm using one of her Fairies from her Ethereal Fairy collection and isn't she beautiful!  These colors just called out to me, they are so soft and gorgeous I just had to use something from this collection.
I started off with a page out of my art journal.  This paper is super thick at 140lb and can take any medium I've thrown at it.  I got it off of Amazon, here is a link (no affiliation) but it's awesome to work with!

I pulled some CTMH inks in Journey and Shortbread and softly inked up the background.  I didn't want to do a heavy cover for this because the image is so soft.
After inking the background I printed the image and cut it twice with my Joy2 Cricut...oh that thing cuts so precise!  I then cut the wings off the second image so I could give the image a bit of dimension with some foam tape on the second pair of wings.

I decided that I wanted to use some fine gold embossing powder on parts of her wing and while I was at it I wanted to cover the holes with a circle of gold embossing powder just to pull that gold over and balance the page.  I set the image aside so I could finish up the background.
I went into my stencils and grabbed my Tim Holtz HOCUS POCUS stencil, that is my favorite star stencil I have and works beautifully!  I used some CTMH ink in ALMOND to stencil the background.  I then reached for my DECOART word stencil and used the words INSPIRE and DREAM and stenciled them with glitter paste in TOPAZ from DIAMOND PRESS.

I let that dry and then reached into my 49 and Market rub ons from the SUMMER PORCH ESSENTIALS, I loved that saying from and the colors were spot on.   I used a couple of more rub ons from that collection and then pulled some bits and pieces from the MOONLIT GARDEN cluster kit.  I love when 2 collections work so well together!

I placed her at the top right corner and adhered her down and added those second pair of wings for that added dimension.  I added all the bits and pieces from the MOONLIT GARDEN kit making sure to balance the page and then added some word strips from a very old sticker book called SIMPLE VINTAGE COTTAGE FIELDS from Simple Stories.

I am not mad at it, I absolutely love the colors Kim chose to use for her and the other fairies...so soft and gorgeous!

I hope I inspired you to get into your crafty space and do some art journaling or card making or what ever your crafty outlet is.  Don't forget to head over to her shop and take a peak at all the amazing images she has created!

Stay crafty!

Tip Day Tuesday - Digi Downloads

Hey guys! It's Tip Day Tuesday👩🏻‍🎨
Today's Tip is all about digi downloads. I didn't even know it was a thing until the blog hop I joined! What is a digi download? It's a downloadable PDF file that you buy, say on Etsy (and pretty cheap I might add) to use for scrapbooking or card making.
What's the point of a digi download?
Well, it's basically a stamp you don't have to buy or if you can't find that particular stamp by itself (think stamp sets that you would never use any of them but the one and only one that you want).
It will never go bad;You will never lose it; You will never have to go out and buy that special (expensive) pen/copic marker...as long as your printer has ink you are good;
No hours of coloring just to start over because you didn't like how it turned out - - because most of them come already colored for you (some only provide the black and white (think black stamp on white paper) but 90% of them that I have looked out have both;
Last but not least...Once you downloaded, it's yours to use as many times as you want.
You can print them in different sizes (depending on what you want to use them for -I used mine for the holiday card challenge - see my attached pic below). You can use different papers to print them on and then you fussy cut them and DONE! (ok, fancy word for cut it out of the paper).
I purchased mine from Pink Gem Designs on Etsay, she has the cutest stuff!
So there you have it guys...Tip Day Tuesday!
What are you scraping today?

Come on over to our FB page and Show us your stuff🤗🤗
happy Scrapping,

Digi Downloads and what are they?

Hey there Newbies,

I wanted to blog about something I recently came across and new nothing about, Digi Downloads. Digi is short for digital downloads.  I've never heard of them before and came across something on facebook about a sale that Pink Gem Designs was having so it peeked my curiosity so off I went to check it out.

I was hooked!  All of the awesomeness that they call digi downloads was amazing.  They are designs (think, coffee, Christmas, characters...the cutest stuff ever) that are already colored in beautifully AND you also get just the outlined of the design so you can add your own flare if you want.

Why did I fall so hard for digi stamps?  Well, they are already in beautiful color, they are cheaper than stamps, you don't have to buy ink for stamping and you can manipulate them (think, size, lighten or darken the colors, print multiples at a time)!  They are great for cards or layouts, including project life!

Once you purchase them for say .99 (they start about that price and go up) they are yours forever!  The one draw back...fussy cutting.  I hate fussy cutting (because I'm not that great at it, nor was I great at staying in the lines when coloring at pre-school😁).

I found a few places to purchase them (even on Ebay) but I made this card using a digi from Pink Gem Designs on Etsy.  I mean how cute is that and who doesn't appreciate a handmade card from the heart!

Well, there you have it...digi downloads.  I hope that you learned a little about them and how to use them.  To find out more about how I made this card click here.
