Tag You're It Challenge Day 26 - can you say weaving?

Hi guys thanks so much for stopping by and following along on this Tag You're It hop sponsored by....

 Piece Craft Love!

To learn more about this hop, go here.

I'm here on Day 26 and guess what?  I loved using my Pinkfresh Studio collections to make this Easter layout using some weaving techniques.

So this was definitely a PinkFresh Studio themed layout with a little bit of stash bashing.
I grabbed some of the PinkFresh Studio papers from the OFFICE HOURS COLLECTION, called HARDWORK, the MY FAVORITE STORY, called BEAUTY OF SIMPLICITY and BEST CHAPTER and from their NOTEWORTHY collection I used, JUST BE YOU.  I got the tag from the MY FAVORITE STORY paper collection called, GOOD LIFE - I mean how cute is that little tag!  I used the cut-a-parts side and the other side from their NOTEWORTHY collection called LOVELY MOMENTS to frame the photo.  I'm in love with those cut-a-parts!

I also used some of mini puffy alphas from their NOTEWORTHY collection.  The "BUNNY' Alphas were from American Crafts called GETAWAY (love those)!

I used 2 element stickers from the HELLO SPRING collection from ECHO PARK.

The foam bunnies, chick and eggs were all from my stash I've had for a while.

To see how it all came together, click the video below!

Tag, You're It! Challenge - Day 3

Hi guys thanks so much for stopping by and following along on this Tag You're It hop sponsored by....

 Piece Craft Love!

For more info on how to play go here!

I'm here on Day 3 of the #TAGYOUREIT Challenge and having a great time coming up with these tag layouts!  I'm also still in the PinkFresh Studio mode so come join me and see what I collection I use for this layout...

This is how I started

For Day 3 I'm digging out the following PFS stash I just got in that amazing box they just did a few weeks ago.

For the papers - The background paper was this really awesome grid paper with some green foliage type design on the edges that I love so much called OH SO DELIGHTFUL from their DAYS OF SPLENDOR collection.  I also used the paper, LOVELY MOMENTS from their NOTEWORTHY collection.  I cut that into strips and used both sides to add a splash of color with the green and blues I was focusing on (GREEN & BLUE are both prompts in the challenge).  I also used a 6x6 pad from SOME DAYS paper-pack to back the photo.

I dug deep into my stash for those cute PFS frames I've had them for 2 years and are just using the last of them up.

For the Puffy Stickers I used - LET'S STAY HOME collection, I used some Ephemera from DAYS OF SPLENDOR (regular and floral pack) & OFFICE HOURS. The Chipboard flairs (that I am in love with) came from their DAYS OF SPLENDOR collection and the Tag itself came from the LET'S STAY HOME collection.

I actually started out with some inks but I ended up covering 95% of it up, but isn't that how it goes some times when making your layouts🤷🏻‍♀️  I cut a total of 8 strips and put 4 going diagonal and 4 going horizontal.  As I said above, I used both sides of that paper so I could pull some color in.

I backed the frames with some of the NOTEWORTHY paper I had left over from cutting the strips.  I used the 4 because that's how old my granddaughter is in this picture, the other ones I used for the words and colors.

I added the ephemera piece that says HOME on the tag and put in a journaling card, added some of the floral ephemera pieces to the back of it and found the word TOGETHER that I liked and to finish it off, I used the worlds smallest title that says MY FAMILY above the puffy sticker that says THESE ARE MY PEOPLE.

The finished layout.

Tag You're It! Challenge Day 2

Hi guys thanks so much for stopping by and following along on this Tag You're It hop sponsored by....

 Piece Craft Love!

This is Day 2 and I'm here working on a few different Prompts from the Challenge, (click here to see my blog on all the deets for this CHALLENGE) one of them being WINTER and I'm using this gorgeous paper from PinkFresh Studio!  This is one of my favorite papers in the OH, WHAT FUN! collection.  It's called HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS and I'm just in love with it...I mean who doesn't love paper that does most of the work for you!

Here is what I started with

As you guys know I had recently ordered that fabulous box from PinkFresh Studio and with this gorgeous paper came some tags from the same collection so of course I had to use it.  I wanted to document my mom and I celebrating Christmas together (CELEBRATE is another PROMPT for the challenge by the way), so I printed out 3 pictures (about 3x3) and wanted to use all of them.  I did manage to cover up a bit of the paper but I didn't mind, it left a tiny bow at the top of that picture which I thought was just so cute!

I cut the tag so I could fit the picture of us in the horse drawn carriage, and still have the OH, WHAT FUN saying showing.   I added the title, CHRISTMAS MAGIC puffy sticker from the same collection.  I also added the textured stars at the top (TEXTURE is another prompt from the challenge).  I used modeling paste with SKY BLUE liquid water color from PFS and it turned out amazing!

That PFS box came with almost the entire collection from OH WHAT FUN! so I started pulling out a lot of puffy stickers and stars and words (WORDS is another prompt from the challenge)..  I also used an acetate ephemera (EPHEMERA is another prompt from the challenge) from Heidi Swapp that says OVER THE RIVER AND THROUGH THE WOODS, which was perfect for this layout, I mean come on, we are in a horse and carriage at Christmas time!

I grabbed a few puffy stickers (STICKERS is another prompt...I'm rocking these PROMPTS on this layout) from Studio Calico...I mean that Santa hat...am I right?

The photos are backed with Authentique Wintery Collection from a 6x6 paper pad I had in my stash.  The twine was the last thing I put on the tag and tada, finished!

Thursday, July 22, 2021

Hey guys, thanks so much for stopping by my blogger today!  I have a PinkFresh Studio layout that I'm excited to share with you.  Every month they have a Challenge up on their website/blog and this month for July it's all about butterflies and a certain color pallet.  So I'm going to show you what I came up with and used from their collections and a few others that aren't PFS (their rules say you don't have to use everything PFS, but most of it was)!

I started with this picture of my long time very good friend who has been through so much in her life and now she has been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer🎗  She is a fighter for sure and this picture is her last day of the hell of chemo that she went through and she got an all clear from the doctors!  They gave her a plaque and she got to ring that bell🙌

I wanted to do a layout of this very special moment for her and frame it and send it to her.  I thought the butterflies were a great symbol for this special moment, like a re-birth of a moth to a butterfly...her life is starting over in a new direction.

I started off with PFS paper collect from MY FAVORITE STORY called - PLANT KINDNESS and wanted to make it pop with a bright yellow around the edges so I added SIMPLE STORIES COLOR VIBE in Yellow.  I was going to use some bigger butterflies from Anna Giffin and use a smaller picture but I decided that didn't work for me.  I wanted the focus on her and not the butterflies so I used a punch from my stash that punched out very small butterflies that were perfect!

I am loving these PFS wood scent stickers from their OFFICE HOURS COLLECTION and the "YOU GOT THIS" was just perfect for this layout!  I also fell in love with the PFS - YOU ARE STRONGER paper from their LET'S STAY HOME collection.  The words are so beautiful and the color is gorgeous as well.   I used a die cut frame I had and cut both the paper and the plain border around it. I reached deep into my stash to find the bouquet of flowers from Jen Hadfield to place in the middle of it.

The "TODAY'S STORY" is a cut-a-part from PFS collection NOTEWORTHY called BE CURIOUS.  I added a sticker to it from a THE PAPER STUDIO Butterly kit a bought from Hobby Lobby...the color was spot on!  The Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbon I cut from a die cut I got from one of my favorite shops CAS-ual Fridays Stamps.  I used PFS paper, SUPER COOL collection called CHOIR and backed it with the same plain green paper I had in my stash.  I added a brad to the middle of it from FSJ/SPELLBINDERS.  The rest of the ephemera came from PFS as well as the circle chipboard flairs that I absolutely love!  The title YOU DID IT is PFS tiny puffy alphas I purchased from PIECE CRAFT LOVE, one of my new favorite shops! I mixed from 2 different collections NOTEWORTHY and DAYS OF SPLENDOR.  I finished it off with the tiny green and yellow butterflies and some stickers from the THE PAPER STUDIO kit.

I hope she likes how this turned out.  I think the colors in this collection are perfect for a layout like this.  Please leave some comments below and let me know what you think.  Come follow me on YT and join our group over on MEWE, we would love to have you!

Thanks again for stopping by and make it a scrapy day!

Doodle's 1st baby album- Layouts #27-46 of the 365 scrapbook challenge and what lessons I learned with this layout

Hi Newbies, I'm here working on my 365 page layout challenge for 2019!  I will try to link all of the items used so you know what I used (and possibly where I bought them) just in case you decide you like any of it.

This week I decided to try something new...8 x 8 Layouts.  Now some of you might be saying how hard could that be.  Well, not so sure "harder" would be the word but never doing one before I made it "harder" in my head.  So lesson #1 for this blog would be...don't be afraid to try something you have never tried before.  That goes for anything in life...just go for it!  You never know how it will turn out or what you will learn from it or the experience you might get from it.

If you have been following my blogs you know that I usually do the 12 x 12 layouts (and use the ENTIRE space) and possibly throw in a hand made card or two just to get me out of my comfort zone.

These 8 x 8's for me were "hard" because I could only use 1 picture if I kept it at the 4x6, and very little embellishing.  I really wanted to do a baby album for my one and only grand-daughter and knew if I started at the 12 x 12 it would eventually have its own zip code so I said to myself, self, why not use an 8x8 album?  So I did, and eventually fell in L-O-V-E with doing 8x8's!

I was able to do an entire 20 page layout in less than a week, my goal was the weekend...and that was a big fat FAIL! Waah, waah, waah...but I didn't stop and I ended up finishing it in less than a week!

I knew I definitely wanted to do some mixed media on some of them since space was limited and I wanted to make sure it was as pretty as it could be and not just a picture on a page.  And by mixed media. I meant, it was mostly that awesome Nuvo Mousse I bought from Sparkle N Sprinkle!  I just can't get enough of it!

Instead of doing a blog with each one of the 8x8 layouts and because I didn't use a lot of embleshiments and mixed media, the blog would have been super short.  I decided to do one blog with the 20 layouts on them, featuring the items (and lessons if any) I used.

So here they are:

TITLE: HELLO
Title: Jillibean Soup
PAPER: stash from Michael's Hot Buy pad
FLAIR:  Scrappin Happy Studios
BANNER: Punch I bought at Michael's
SEQUENCE:  Ink Road Stamps (yeap, they have sequence!)
DATE:  Stamped with date stamper from ACherryOnTop.com
PHOTO:  Corners of photo was punched out pink paper that matched banner with corner punch and adhered to picture.

Title:  REAL IS RARE
PAPER: off white card stock that I used Nuvo Mousse from  SprinkleNsparkle.com (Peony Pink) EPHEMERA pack from PinkFresh Studio's BE YOU collection (leaves, "Real is Rare" and square with gold accents that I flipped and used as a triangle underneath the photo)
BUTTERFLIES were done using a punch & iridescent paper from Michael's
FLAIR: "So Sweet" by Scrappin Happy Studio

Title:  BABY STATS
Title:  "The Stats" and the script word BABY from Me and My Big Ideas, from Acherryontop.com
Paper: Stash from my Michael's Hot Buys haul
Flair: Jelly-O dimensional sticker
Flowers and heart stickers: puffy stickers, PinkFresh Studios

Title:  HELLO LOVE
Before I started laying out the photo, I used some Ranger Perfect Pearls in PERFECT COPPER to mist the background, (got this in a mystery bag purchase.  I can only find it on Ebay).
PHOTO: backed with tissue paper w/gold flakes, added 2 die flowers by momenta  I cut using my Big Shot, adhered using my fineline applicator with tacky glue (love it, makes it so easy to glue down really small pieces), adhered photo with foam dots for some dimension. I also used used some of the mist and to create a "border" at the bottom. So here is LESSON #2 for these layouts; you can use more than just paper borders and washi tape to create a border for your page.

TITLE: PRINCESS
TITLE: The "Princess" sticker is from The Children's Phrases sticker book,
EPHEMERA round circle with flowers came from Vicki Boutin
PAPER: off white card stock, using Nuvo Mousse in Peony Pink and Lemmon Sorbet for the background. Die cut the 2 flowers by Momenta and also used the Nuvo Mousse (but adding water and a paint brush this time. The photo is actually backed by to tags that are pink and yellow from one of the Hot Buys from Michael's
The butterflies are cut from a border washi tape from Pink Paislee Pink Flat back 1/2 beads are from Ink Road Stamps

PHOTO:  backed with tissue paper.  I also tried to put Washi tape down both sides of the pic but didn't like it (and here is LESSON 3 for this album); DON'T BE IN A HURRY TO DO YOUR LAYOUT, if the background is still wet, even Washi tape will tear the page/paint off.  I liked the look so I kept it.  It looks like the tear technique.  So I guess LESSON 3 for this layout, just because it isn't what what you meant it to be, if you like it, keep it!

PHOTO: backed it with the intricate flower die and backed with a partial die cut Wonky frame from Doodlebugswa.com
HELLO: cut from one of the pages of of the same pad and adhered with foam dots for dimension

Sweet Moment - Layout #24 of the 365 scrapbook challenge and what lessons I learned with this layout

Hey Newbies!

I'm here working on my 365 Page Layout Challenge.  I will try to list everything I used below and try to link up to where you can purchase them if you happen to like any of them.

Today I am working on a layout I call SWEET MOMENTS.  This one is especially close to my heart because it's a picture of me and my granddaughter reading "THE LITTLEST ANGEL", the exact book I saved that I use to read to her daddy when he was just about her age.

I'm not going to lie, this layout took me a while due to the colors I was mixing.  It looks like a simple layout but I wanted all of the colors to blend with the paper I used on the background so it was trial and error.

Which brings me to LESSON #1, if it doesn't work the first time or second time or third time, try, try again!  That particular blue/purple I was trying to pull from the lights of the tree was tricky.

I started out with the awesome periwinkle blue card stock I had.  I layered it with a 12x12 acetate sheet with words on it.  I saw it at Michael's and thought it would be different to use and I loved the way it looked.  It's from their Recollections collection called Signature Especial.

The wording was perfect and it really popped on top of the blue background.  I have never used this type of paper before...and here comes LESSON #2 for this layout.  Adhering acetate paper is tricky and I'm sure I didn't use the correct adhesive but when I stuck it down using my crafters tape you could see it.  Luckily, I was smart enough to just do a small amount on each of the 4 corners.  The top was an easy fix because of the border I put up there but the bottom, not so much.  So I had to cover the one corner with the trees...the other corner I couldn't find anything that looked right so, for this lesson..make sure you know your material before starting a layout.

After I glued down the paper I decided where I wanted my pictures and how I wanted to back them.   I found this awesome silvery, iridescent paper at Michael's.  It was beautiful and I wish I would have bought more of it.  I backed both of my photos with it and set them aside.  I wanted to pull a little red out of the Christmas tree in the photo so I used my Fancy Pants Glitter Cut Flurry of Hearts I had gotten from Scrapbooking-for-less.com It pulled out just enough of the red and the purple, so I just let enough peek through to add a splash of those colors.

I adhered the photos down, one straight on the background and the other with foam dots to give a dimensional look.  I added the word LOVE from Thickers Skyler collection.  The word "BELIEVE" I have had in my stash for a while and have no idea where I got it.  I also used the words "SWEET MOMENT" for the Title from Amy Tangerine.

The Title words are white foam so it took me a while to match the colors using Nuvo Mica Mists in  NEBULA BLUE and some of my Radiant Pearls in WILD ORCHID.  The colors matched perfectly so I did this with the angel border (that I made using white card stock and an embossing tool with an Angel playing a trumpet) at the top as well.  I also loved the color so much that I did the trees in the corner.  They came as plain wood veneer and this color worked out well.

I did some journaling on my computer and printed in out on clear labels and stuck it to the scrap of that awesome silver radiant paper I used to back the photos.  I also used it with one of my Spellbinders Nestabilities Scored and Pierced Squares Etched Die frames to make the cute frame at the top and added a sticker that says "YOU MAKE MY HEART SO HAPPY".

The remainder of that paper was punched into 2 circles where I put flairs on top to really make them pop.  I special ordered one of those flairs that says "OMA LOVE" (she calls me Oma).  I get most of my flairs from Scrappin Happy Studios who did this special order for me (I have a few more in different colors and different sayings).  So if you want to really make a special layout, don't hesitate to ask her for a special order!

I added a couple of more flairs, a black heart to pull some more of the black out, 2 small chipboard sticker hearts in red and a Christmas brad in red to pull some of the red out of the tree in the photo.

Shine On - Layout #25 of the 365 scrapbook challenge and what lessons I learned with this layout

Hey Newbies,

I'm here working on number 25 of my 365 Page Layout Challenge 2019 (and the lessons I learn).  I will try to link up to where you can purchase the items I used just in case you see anything you might like to try!

This  was another Challenge from the UK Facebook group I'm in.  The challenge was pretty specific: a first of something (baby, first time...) triangles, stencil and an unusual way of journaling.

I started off with a bright pink 12x12 card stock background.  I also have a pad with some unusual papers in them and this lime green with yellow splatters worked like a charm with this layout!  So I cut an inch from each side and adhered it to the pink 12 x 12 background.
I backed all of the photos with a thin piece of foam!  I've never done that before but I have a small stash of super thin foam sheets in these bright colors of yellow, green, pinks and blues.  So here is LESSON #1, think outside the box.  Who would have thought to use foam as a border around a photo?  I ended up doing a blue, green and yellow on the photos to pull the colors out and make them pop.  I used some foam dots on them to adhere to the background to give a bit of dimension.

For the use of triangles, I cut 3 triangles using some of the yellow thin foam and added some bright pink puffy stickers from My Mind's Eye PALM BEACH COLLECTION. I also used a rubber chips banner from PinkFresh Studio 's Dream On collection underneath one of the photos to add more triangles (be it upside down, they are still triangles😬) and some pink and gold triangles sticker from Bella Blvd.
I added some other puffy stickers from Bella Blvd (the LOVE circle, the multi colored flag and the SHINE ON, which I used for my TITLE).  And here comes LESSON #2 for this layout, you don't have to always use alphas for your title.  This puffy sticker worked great!  I've also used Stamps, Project Life Cards, cards from pads, you get the idea.  I added a glitter beach ball sticker from the SPLASH FUN collection, a chipboard BIG SMILES sticker from American Crafts, and a SO MUCH FUN sticker from Bella Blvd's MAKE YOUR MARK collection.  The OH HAPPY DAY clear sticker is from The Paper Studio AGEND 52 (Hoppy Lobby), the CUTE AS A BUTTON clear sticker is from The Paper Studio's Children Phrases sticker pack (Hobby Lobby) and the rainbow is from The Hip Kit Club ephemera pack.  The BE YOU (yellow and pink sticker) is from Dear Lizzy and finally the LIFE IS SWEET flair is from SCRAPPIN HAPPY STUDIO.

I then did my stenciling.  I have this stencil I purchased from Amazon with different words on it.  I chose the BE HAPPY because she is so happy in that pool at that moment!  I used embossing glue on my stencil and then used my Wendy Vecchi embossing powder in BUTTERCUP and heated with my heat gun.  I did this on a separate piece of scrap paper in green and then used foam dots to secure it to my background.

For the unusual journaling I decided to use the same thin foam sheets I had and wait for it...put it in my BIG SHOT die cutting machine with a square die that had and framed it!   I then took some clear stickers ran them through the printer and stuck them onto the yellow square.  I glued the square to my backing and it worked great!

Well there you have it! Number 25 of my 365 layout challenge for 2019.  thanks for following along on my journey of 365 scrapbook page challenge that I am doing, and reading about the lessons I'm learning along the way!  If you liked the blog please subscribe and follow me.
